Wreck-it Rachel is an upcoming 2017 romantic-comedy film. The film marks the return of traditional 2D animation since 2009.
Taking place after the events of Wreck-it Ralph II, Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) are married and are waiting for the new game to be plugged in. It's revealed to be a spinoff of Fix-it Felix called Fix-it Felicity. They enter the game, and it comes to life. The game opens with an introduction about a seaside town which was damaged by a cataclysm and consequently sunk into the depths of the earth. A town named Arendelle was later built at this site, with the fortunes of the lost kingdom fabled to exist behind the eponymous Wreck-It Window, located in the ruins of the old town. Rachel becomes involved when Princess Renee contacts her about a treasure map that she bought in Arendelle, but becomes part of a larger adventure after learning that Renee has gone missing. With the help of Felicity and Professor Mickley, Rachel learns that the map can potentially reveal the location of the seven legendary Arcade Tokens, which are required to unlock the Wreck-It Window. Under the assumption that Renee herself is trying to find the Arcade Tokens, she uses the map in an attempt to locate her.
In actuality, Renee has been kidnapped by the Secret Society of X-Men, a group of Mutants led by Sir Gregius, which is also searching for the Arcade Tokens. While held captive, Renee uses e-mail via the main base's computer, MTT, to inform Rachel about the quest and consequently help him to attain all seven Arcade Tokens and locate the treasure. However, the "treasure" is actually the forgotten Turbo, a game hopper responsible for the ancient cataclysm that destroyed the original arcade 1,000 years ago. The X-Men had kept Renee so that her body could be possessed by Turbo in a bid to recover his full power. However, Turbo betrays Gregius. This happens, but the arcane power of the Arcade Tokens is then used to separate Renee from her possessor briefly to give Rachel and friends the strength needed to fight Turbo. Rachel defeats Turbo and frees Renee, returning home with her.
