White Phosphorus is an incendiary special attack within the XNDUIW community that is a common allotrope of the chemical element phosphorus, and is the burning component of tracer ammunition as well. Other slang terms include "Whisky Pete" for short within the community itself. It is ignited by contact with air, burns, and can set anything on fire in it's wake, and emits a lot of smoke as well, and creating smoke screens to hide friendly forces' movement, infrared signatures and shooting positions, and are called smoke rounds for their use of marking many points of interests, and designating a target for artillery spotters.
Function[]
When a munition of this type is dropped from mid air, the white phosphorus component ignites and bursts in mid air, spreading fragments of white phosphorus all over the place too. Considering that it was first used during WWII, it is capable of point-detonating smoke-filled rounds using the WP filler. It was used extensively by both the Americans and the Russians across multiple conflicts, such as the two Chechen wars, and the conflict in Vietnam as well. Once fragments from a detonated missle containing this substance is used, it spreads in a specific targeted direction, causing chemical burns to the target, and burns at 800°C and carries the increased likelihood of death due to the absorption of phosphorus into the human body with prolonged, and continuous contact which results in liver, kidney, and heart damage, and in serious cases, multiple organ failure too, and it produces a white smoke that his burning hot, which is also poisonous and not exactly safe to inhale, and has been adopted as a special attack within the community as well, including a few fanon wikis at the same time. Further treatment of such burns would proceed as with a thermal burn itself.
Damage is multiplied by shrapnel these bombs can spread (although absent within the XNDUIW game engine itself.) It primarily causes burn injuries, in a primary way, with a secondary form of injury being the smoke inhalation part of the weapon itself.
Legality[]
While in general the chemical is not subject to restrictions, certain uses in weapons may be prohibited under international laws, particularly those related to incendiary devices. The Chemical Weapons Convention also has a say on the use of white phosphorus, and the use of this item may be a grave breach of international law as well, as it can cause irreparable or permanent harm to humans or animals too. One other reason why this weapon may be prohibited is simply because it will never stop burning once the item is lit up and in flames as well, and particles could burn until completely consumed or starved of oxygen, and such items can be incredibly destructive to human lives as well.
The use of incendiary and other flame weapons against materials, including enemy personnel is not 100% forbidden by any treaty, so bad actors could use it for malicious reasons including potential lethality from the weapon as well, and thus an important weapon to consider within the XNDUIW community too.
