"Welcome" is a song featured in the film, Brother Bear. It is performed by the Blind Boys of Alabama and Phil Collins.
The song is also the theme song of the former parade Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland.
It plays when Kenai adjusts to the bear community for a short while during the salmon run.
The song is also used as the finale for the 2004 CBC special, The Magical Gathering.
Additionally, Jump5 covered it for Disneymania 2 sometime before Libby Hodges, one of the members, left the other four the same year.
Collins' version of the song appears translated into the Hawaiian language on the album Mele from Aunty's Beach House as "He Launa" (literally translated as "A Circle").
Lyrics[]
There's nothing complicated
About the way we live
We're all here for each other, happy to give
Proud of who we are
Humble beneath the stars
We've everything we need
The moon, the sun
There is more than enough here for everyone
All we have we share
And all of us we care
So come on
(chorus)
Welcome to our family time
Welcome to our brotherly time
We're happy givin' and takin' to the friends we're makin'
There's nothing we won't do
Welcome to our family time
Welcome to our happy to be time
This is our festival
Ya know the best of all
We're here to share it all
There's a bond between us nobody can explain
It's a celebration of life
We see our friends again
I'll be there for you
I know you'll be there for me too...
So come on!
(chorus)
Welcome to our family time
Welcome to our brotherly time
This is our festival
Ya know the best of all
We're here to share it all
Remembering loved ones departed
Someone dear to your heart
Finding love, and planning a future
Telling stories and laughing with friends
Precious moments you'll never forget
This has to be the most beautiful
The most peaceful place I've ever been to
It's nothing like I've ever seen before
When I think how far I've come
I can't believe it... yet I see it
In them I see family
I see the way we used to be
Come on...
(chorus)
Welcome to our family time
Welcome to our brotherly time
We're happy giving and taking to the friends we're making
There is nothing we won't do
Welcome to our family time
Welcome to our happy to be time
This is our festival
Ya know the best of all
We're here to share it...
We're here to share it all
Everyone's invited
This is how we live
We are here for each other, happy to give
All we have we share
And all of us we care
So come on!
(chorus)
Welcome to our family time
Welcome to our brotherly time
We're happy for givin' and takin' to the friends we're makin'
There is nothing we won't do
Welcome to our family time
Welcome to our happy to be time
This is our festival
Ya know the best of all
We're here to share it all
There's a bond between us nobody can explain
It's a celebration of life
We see our friends again
I'll be there for you
I know you'll be there for me, too
So come on!
(chorus repeat)
Remembering loved ones departed
Someone dear to your heart
Finding love, and planning a future
Telling stories and laughing with friend
Precious moments you'll never forget
This has to be the most beautiful
The most peaceful place I've ever been to
It's nothing like I've never seen before
When I think how far I've come
I can't believe it
And yet I see it
In them I see family
I see the way we used to be
Come on!
(chorus repeat) (2x)
We're here to share it all!
