Thomas William "Tom" Hiddleston is an English actor, who is well known for playing Loki Laufeyson in the Marvel action films: Thor, The Avengers (which earned him the 2013 MTV Movie Award for Best Villain), the 2013 Marvel action film, Thor: The Dark World and the 2017 Marvel action film, Thor: Ragnarok, and he reprises the role in the 2018 Marvel action film, Avengers: Infinity War and the 2019 Marvel action film, Avengers: Endgame. He will also star in the upcoming Disney+ series, Loki. He also makes a cameo appearance as "Great Escapo" in Disney's 2014 musical comedy film, Muppets Most Wanted, and played James, a young Captain Hook, in The Pirate Fairy.
After filming his role for Muppets Most Wanted (and having become well known for his celebrity impressions), ShortListMag asked him to do an impression of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Attending the 2012 BAFTA Awards, Hiddleston gave Miss Piggy a kiss on the red carpet. Later that year, he tweeted a photo of himself and a Kermit doll dressed as Loki at the premiere of The Avengers in Rome. He called it the "one of the greatest moments of my life". He even played Captain James Nicholls in Steven Spielberg's war drama film, War Horse.

- Hiddleston was tested for the role of Thor Odinson in Thor, but at the end, Chris Hemsworth was cast instead, although Hiddleston ended up being cast as Loki Laufeyson, the film's main antagonist.[1]
- Hiddleston jokingly proposed to direct Thor: The Dark World, but his proposal was rejected due to his lack of experience.
