"Timon and Pumbaa's Christmas" is the thirty-eighth episode of the Disney Junior animated series The Lion Guard. It premiered on December 8, 2017 and is the twelfth episode in the second season.
Rafiki teaches his daughter Makini about the traditions of the Kupatana Celebration, an event where the Pridelanders gather together to watch the baobab flowers bloom. He then instructs her that as a Royal Mjuzi, she must learn about all the traditions on the Pride Lands. Makini arrives towards a painting of Timon placing a starfruit on top of a Christmas tree, just as Rafiki tells Makini that she hasn't celebrated Christmas yet. He then offers Makini of how Timon and Pumbaa introduced Christmas to the Pride Lands to which Rafiki agrees. Rafiki narrates that a special star appears in the sky on Christmas Eve, seen day and night all across the Pride Lands.
At daytime, Timon, Pumbaa and Bunga are decorating a tree in preparation for Christmas just as Timon places the starfruit at the top of the tree just as Kion, Fuli, Beshte, and Ono arrive towards the group explaining about why there are gourds hanging there to which Bunga explains that the star seen in the sky is to symbolize one day before Christmas. Timon tells the Guard that Christmas is a wonderful holiday where everyone who behaves good receives presents as well as a time for everyone to be with their family and friends. Bunga then tells that a mysterious person known as "Dandy Claws" (equivalent to Santa Clause) would give presents to the Pride Landers during Christmas. Bunga then sings a musical number about the first Christmas in the Pride Lands just as Bunga prepares for Christmas this year.
Timon worries that Dandy Claws would never come to the Pride Lands to which Pumbaa explains that Dandy would only come of the Pridelanders perform a special Christmas performance known as "The Twelve Ways of Christmas". Kion leads the Lion Guard to patrol the Pride Lands and protect it from Outlanders before Christmas Day. On their way to protect the Pride Lands from Outlanders, Ono tells the Guard that tomorrow is Christmas, telling them to get ready for Christmas. Kion then devises a plan by hiring the Pridelanders to gather together and meet back at a Hakuna Matata Falls. Meanwhile, Beshte asks Ma Tembo to perform for the Christmas celebration to which she and the elephants agree and accept his offer.
Meanwhile at Pride Rock, Kion asks Simba to participate in this event to which Nala and Kiara tell him to follow what Kion says to which he decides to join in, to which Kion intervenes, telling Simba to bring his whole family, alongside Tiifu and Zuri. Kion then recruits his royal family to participate in the Christmas performance. Meanwhile, Pumbaa walks towards Bunga and Ono to which Ono accidentally swallows the bugs for the event to which Bunga hid them in his mouth while talking with Pumbaa, causing Bunga to start the song over again.
Meanwhile, Fuli has a hard time grabbing berries until she notices the baboons Uroho, Mwizi, and Mwevi gazing downwards at her just as Uroho offers Fuli to help her get the berries for Christmas to which Uroho tells the members of the Traveling Baboon Show to gather the berries from the tree. Fuli thanks the baboons whom she explains that the berries are for the event to which Uroho tells her to continue explaining about it. That night, Simba, Nala, Kiara, Tiifu, and Zuri arrive towards the tree Kion told them about just as he leads the royal family to Bunga conducting a large crowd of Pridelanders rehearsing for performance just as Bunga explains that the animals need to rehearse before Dandy Claws shows up to which no other Pridelanders know about him just as Bunga tells all the animals to rehearse.
At sunrise, the animals finish rehearsing just as Bunga decides to make the song perfect to which they all refuse and leave since they were all rehearsing all night for Dandy to come. Simba tells Kion and Bunga about why Christmas is important to which Bunga explains that Timon and Pumbaa taught Bunga about this holiday in order to cheer up Timon and Pumbaa just as the animals prepares Christmas performance to them. That Christmas Day, Bunga wakes up Timon and Pumbaa that this year is the best Christmas ever. Arriving towards the Christmas tree, Bunga, Kion, Ono, Fuli, Beshte and the rest of the Pridelanders perform a Christmas celebration for Timon and Pumbaa. Timon and Pumbaa, however, burst into tears of joy upon hearing such a wonderful thing the Pridelanders did. Suddenly, Pumbaa (as Dandy Claws) arrives towards the Pridelanders, explaining that it took so long to put the costume for Pumbaa to be Dandy just as Timon and Pumbaa feel happy that this Christmas year is the best Christmas of all. The Pridelanders happily celebrate Christmas, making this celebration the first time the Pridelanders celebrated this holiday in the Pride Lands.
Back with Rafiki, he explains to Makini that this is how Christmas is brought to the Pride Lands just as Makini tells him that Christmas celebrates the gift of the Circle of Life just as Rafiki brings the painting to life to make Makini happy.
