The Spirit of Death is a character from the Life and Adventures of Santa Claus.
Background[]
The Spirit of Death is an immortal responsible for mortals' deaths, though she doesn't speak at all. She is destined to take Santa Claus when his time is up, unless he can be given immortality. But immortality can't be given lightly, even Ak knows that. So the Council of Immortals must take a vote and decide whether Santa should live forever or not. Will they vote yes or no? Should Santa Claus deserve to live forever or not?
The Death Spirit is a mysterious figure in a navy blue hooded cloak with white hands and red eyes. She carries a scythe for smiting mortals when they die.
Appearance[]
In the movie when Santa comes home exhausted from his fifteenth trip of delivering toys, the Spirit is mentioned by his little helpers who fear that he's about to die. So Herb rushes off to tell Ak while the little helpers stay with Santa.
As soon as the Spirit comes to smite the toymaker while he's asleep that night, the Immortals, who have all voted that Santa should live forever, arrive just in time to prevent it from happening. Ak tells the Spirit that Mr. Claus is staying, much to her dismay, but she leaves the house forever so the Immortals can bestow the Mantle of Immortality to their friend. The Spirit is not seen again for the ending.
Video Game[]
The Spirit appears in the video game in the final level where she is focused on heading to Santa's house so she can take him. She can only be stopped if the Immortals can make it in time to bring Santa the Mantle of Immortality.
