The Rat Queen is the secondary antagonist from the 1993 animated feature film, The Nutcracker. She is a female rat who is the queen of rats, before her son is king. She is responsible for turning Max into a nutcracker, but dies by a column of rocks, causing her son to occupy the throne of rats and becomes king.
In the original story of the Nutcracker, The Rat Queen, had originally had a different name, this was Mrs. Mouse, but they changed it to Queen Mouse, to differentiate the name of the original character.
The Rat Queen bears a resembleace to Mrs. Brisby from Don Bluth's The Secret of NIHM, but unlike Brisby, The Mouse Queen is a villain instead of a hero.
The Rat Queen, originally was going to have a purple outfit and her red cape, but that idea was discarded and changed to a different color.
The Rat Queen also looks a lot like Zira from The Lion King II: Simba's Pride.
