The Prince of the Knooks is a character in the Life and Adventures of Santa Claus.
Background[]
The Prince of the Knooks lives in the Forest of Burzee while his father, the King, resides in India. His Highness will do anything to help Santa Claus as he gives Peter to the toymaker for help in his goal to make children happy. Despite being strict, the Knook Prince is as humble, generous, and kind as any good prince would be.
The Knook Prince has peach skin, gray eyes, and orange hair unlike his father. But just like his father, he also has pointy ears and a beard. He wears brown and red clothing as well as blue shoes. His belt buckle is shaped like the head of a polar bear and he holds a gold scepter with a bluebird on top.
Appearance[]
In the movie, the Knook Prince is first seen waving goodbye to Santa Claus as he sets out on Christmas Eve before Herb begins the story.
In the story, the Prince is with his subjects doing their duties as well as hearing about Ak's adventures and the Master Woodsman tasting nectar. The Knooks help raise Claus as he grows up in the forest.
When the time comes for Claus to find himself a home as the Immortals promise to help him whenever needed, the Knook Prince gives him Peter to assist the kind man. His Highness even watches the toymaker hard at work and puts his Seal on Santa's house to keep out the Awgwas. During the battle against the Awgwas, the Prince and his subjects use spears to defeat many of the giants.
Just as Will is about to cut off the deal for letting Claus use his reindeer to deliver his toys because he got back after daybreak, His Highness objects having talked it over with Ak and agrees to let it happen again on three conditions, besides not being late again. Will tries to object, but the Prince scolds him telling not to disobey his Prince let alone his King. His Highness also tells Claus that the other Knooks will build a bigger and that the Gnome King has offered a trade, to which Claus agrees.
The Knook Prince waves goodbye to Santa as he heads out on Christmas Eve to deliver his toys. After fifteen mortal years, the Immortals fear that Santa will die, but Ak takes care of that problem by summoning the Council of Immortals to take a vote.
After Santa is given eternal life, he thanks the Immortals promising he'll work harder than ever. In the end, the Prince of the Knooks and other Immortals welcome back Santa and his little helpers from the toy deliveries.
