Kermit: Hey, old pal

how’ve you been doin’?

I'm really not foolin’

I’m so glad to see you

Fozzie: hey, old pal

my life’s been kind of crazy

I’m ready to be lazy

hanging around with you

Kermit: well even in the very, very worst of times

there’s 1 thing I know

the way to guarantee a little peace of mind

is a walk in the woods

a friend by your side

and here we go

Scooter: hey, old pal

it’s great to be here with you

the thing I'd like to give you

is a real good time

Gonzo: hey, old pal

I really can’t believe it

but now that we can see it

it looks just fine

All Muppet friends: what a chance to play and sing

and have some fun

the day should never end

Kermit: this will be a rocky mountain holiday

Robin: with you and me

Rowlf: and all we can see

All Muppet friends: and all of our friends

All Muppet friends: hey, old pal

we must be daydreamin'

at least the things we’re seein’

are a dream come true

Kermit: hey there, gang

it’s great to be together

it just keeps getting better

I can promise you

Robin and Lew Zealand: this is gonna be the very best of times

Dr. Teeth: we will make it so

Janice: no more hustle and bustle

Floyd: and no more telephone lines

All Muppet friends: and now that we’re here

let’s grab all our gear

and off we go……

Grover: “Yes, of course this makes a real cute and lovely campsite.”

Kermit: “Actually, Grover, this isn’t the campsite, this is just the parking lot.”

Fozzie: “So? where’s the campsite?”

Kermit: “Just about 7 miles that way.”

[Muppet Friends Moaning And Groaning]

Kermit: “Come on, everybody, let’s unload the bus.”

The Muppet friends gather up their stuff for their camping trip.

Full Scene: John Denver Memorial Nature Park/John Denver Memorial Sanctuary[]

The Muppet friends keep marching right along towards the campsite all the while thinking about the special place they would show Walter later as a fun thrilling surprise.

Walter: “So did John Denver really enjoy coming here?”

Scooter: “Of course, Walter, he grew up knowing this place and coming here to get 1 good peace of its mind or get inspiration for his musical career.”

Gonzo: “I sure do miss the good old days with John, do any of you remember the camping trip we had a couple of years ago and we sang that real good song called Going Camping?

Robin: “Oh yeah, in fact, who could forget about it?”

Wembley: “I remember it like a very long time ago."

Flashback sequence to the Rocky Mountain Holiday special during the song Going Camping…………

Muppet friends and Guest Star: I got my gear in my pack

I got my pack on my back

today's the day I'm going camping

just got the go ahead sign

the weather's gonna be fine

today's the day I'm going camping

I'm gonna pitch me a tent

won’t have to pay any rent

it looks like everything is A okay

as far as I can see

I think it's gonna be a perfect camping day

Guest Star: "Isn't this the life, Kermit?"

Kermit: "Yep."

Guest Star: "The mountains are so beautiful,"

Kermit: "Yeah, mmmm hmm."

Guest Star: "the air is fresh, the mosquitos aren't bad."

Kermit: "Not bad? they're delicious."

Guest Star: "Oh, yeah."

Fozzie, Rowlf and Scooter: the trees and animals

and clear blue skies

a waterfall comes tumbling right before my eyes

birds that fly above a mountain stream

it's absolutely perfect better than a dream

peace and quiet where the good lord smiled

fields and fields of flowers growing wild

this is just where I belong I'm a mother nature's child

Fozzie: "Oh, it's good to be back in a bear's ancestral home, the peaks, the trees, the sky, I love getting close to the earth."

Fozzie falls over a bit.

Fozzie: "Whoa!"

Scooter: "Can't get much closer than that."

Fozzie: "Hah-hah-hah-hah."

Electric Mayhem band members: it's time to hit the trail

to hit the hill and dale

oh I love hiking in the mountains

it’s great to reach the snow

and see the world below

oh I love hiking in the mountains

each time we stop to eat

we get to rest our feet

and we’ll make it if we take slow

'cause the best way to climb

is 1 step at a time and hiking is the only way to go

Janice: "Oh wow, like, I can't believe that anything so groovy could be, like, so groovy and not have a beach."

Floyd: [Chuckles A Bit] "Yeah, who'd ever think that anything this far out could be, like, this far out?"

Janice: "Oh, really?"

Kermit, Robin, Gonzo and Guest Star: I got my gear in my pack

End flashback sequence……..

Kermit: "Yep, those were the very good times, anyway, we're getting real closer to the campsite, why not make this trip much faster with another song, everybody?"

Fozzie: "Hey, sounds good to me."

[Music Playing In Background]

Kermit: Almost heaven, West Virginia,

Blue Ridge Mountains, Shanendoah River

Emmett: life was old there, older than the trees,

younger than the mountains, growing like a breeze

All Muppet friends: country roads, take me home to the place I belong,

West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home, country roads

Scooter: all my memories gather 'round her, miners lady, stranger to blue water

Boober: dark and dusty painted on the skies, misty taste of moonshine, teardrops in my eyes

All Muppet friends: country roads, take me home to the place I belong,

West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home, country roads

Fozzie: I hear her voice in the morning hour she calls me,

the radio reminds me of my home far away

Emily: driving down the road, I get the feeling that I should have been home yesterday

All Muppet friends: yesterday

All Muppet friends: country roads, take me home to the place I belong,

West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home, country roads

Kermit: take me home down county roads………

The Muppet friends eventually arrive at the campsite.

Kermit: "Alright, gang, here it is."

[Muppet Friends Exclaiming In Amazement]

Scooter: "Wow, it’s just the way we remembered it a couple of years ago."

Elmo: "It's very beautiful."

Rosita: "Esto es maravilloso."

Walter: "Wow, this is amazing, is this the campsite you've been going to for all of those years?"

Robin: "Sure is, Walter."

Gonzo: "It's real good after all of this time."

Kermit: "Well, you guys, since we're all here, let's get things set up for tonight, now everybody unpack your tents and we'll all set up camp, Scooter, Robin and Rowlf will hang up the clothesline and Floyd can take Walter for fishing."

Floyd: "Right on, man."

Fozzie: "Alright, now let's get started."

Animal: "Pitch tent, pitch tent!"

[Water Splashing]

Fozzie: "Animal, you always do that every single year."

Dr. Teeth: "Well, he always gets super excited when he's camping out."

Animal: "Tent go bye-bye."

Animal: [Laughs Meekly]

[Music Begins]

Floyd: Gone fishin', there's a sign upon your door

Walter: I'm gone fishin', I ain't workin' anymore

Floyd: there's a hoe out in the sun where you left a row half done

Walter: I say hoein' ain't no fun

Floyd: you ain't got no ambition

Walter: gone fishin' in a shady wady pool

Floyd: gone fishin', man, you really play it cool

Both: we don't wish to be annoyed

Floyd: Mr. Walter

Walter: Mr. Floyd

Both: we're fishin' instead of just a wishin', we're fishin' instead of just a wishin'

Floyd: "Oh yeah."

Walter: "Well, it looks like we've got enough for everybody."

Floyd: "Yep, that's right, Walter, now let's head back to the campsite."

Walter: "Okay."

Just as the Muppet friends get ready for the entire night, the next thing everybody else wanted to do was to take a hike in the nearby woods, so they all packed their backpacks with the essentials and were soon on their way.

Kermit: "Alright, is everybody ready to go?"

All Muppet friends: "We're ready to go."

Floyd: "Then let's not waste any time, let's go."

Gobo: "Alright, we're coming."

Rizzo: "You know, I dink it would be best if we all stay in groups just in case we all get lost."

Gonzo: "Rizzo, none of us will get lost, we've been here lots of times and nobody ever got lost."

Scooter: "Actually, Gonzo, that doesn't sound like a bad idea."

Beauregard: "Well, I think staying in groups is a good idea."

Kermit: "Alright, so we'll all stay in the groups with the other people that we want to stay with, so, the groups were organized like this: my group has Robin, Piggy, Walter and Scooter, Fozzie's group has Gonzo, Rowlf, Camilla and Rizzo, Big Bird's group has Ernie, Bert and Cookie Monster, Dr. Teeth's group has the rest of the Electric Mayhem band, Herry's group has Count von Count and Grover and Gobo's group has his Uncle Matt, Red, Wembley, Mokey and Boober, and thankfully no Gorgs."

Kermit: (putting the list away) "Okay, everybody, now that we're all in groups, let's go hiking."

Just as all of the groups leave the campsite, they sing another song just as they go along.

[Music Begins Again]

Kermit: On the road of experience, I'm tryng to find my own way

sometimes I wish I could fly away

Scooter: when I think that I'm moving, suddenly things stand still

I'm afraid 'cause I think they always will

Both: and I'm looking for space and to find out who I am

and I'm looking to know and understand

it's a sweet, sweet dream, sometimes I'm almost there

sometimes I fly like an eagle, sometimes I'm deep in despair

Skeeter: all alone in the universe, sometimes that's how it seems

I get lost in the sadness and the screams

Robin: then I look in the center, suddenly everything's clear

I find myself in the sunshine and my dreams

Both: and I'm looking for space and to find out who I am

and I'm looking to know and understand

it's a sweet, sweet dream, sometimes I'm almost there

sometimes I fly like an eagle, sometimes I'm deep in despair

Elmo: on the road of experience, join in the living day

if there's an answer, it's just that it's just that way

when you're looking for space and to find out who you are

when you’re looking to try and reach the stars

it's a sweet, sweet dream, sometimes I'm almost there

sometimes I fly like an eagle, sometimes I'm deep in despair……

Just as the Muppet friends all sing and hike, to them, the woods look so peaceful, it’s just as if John Denver's heaven spirit is guiding them, but they just don’t realize it yet. Right after they finish the hike, they all decide what they wanna do next.

Robin: "Boy, that hike sure was wonderful."

Scooter: "It sure was, Robin, what do we do next?"

Gonzo: "Hey, we're not very far from the river bank, several summer vacations ago, I tried to break 1 world record."

Clifford: "What was the record for, Gonzo?"

Gonzo: "Standing on the bottom of a lake with a dog on your head."

Kermit: "Oh yeah, that’s right, John and I had to pull you and Rowlf outta there."

Rowlf: "Don't remind me of that again."

Baby Bear: "Too late, Wowlf."

Flashback sequence to the Rocky Mountain Holiday special when Rowlf is floating down the river bank.

Guest Star: Saturdays, holidays, easy afternoon

lazy days, summer days, nothing much to do

rainy days are better days for hanging out inside

rainy days and city ways make me want to hide

someplace cool and green and shady

find yourself a piece of grassy ground

lay down, close your eyes

find yourself and maybe lose yourself

while your free spirit flies

Suddenly, Gonzo comes swimming right along and knocks Rowlf accidentally outta his inner-tube.

Guest Star: "Rowlf, are you alright?"

Rowlf: "Yeah."

Kermit: "Hey, you want us to throw you a line?"

Rowlf: "No."

Guest Star: "Can you touch the bottom there?"

Rowlf: "No, but Gonzo can."

Gonzo: "Quick, call Max Incredible!"

End flashback sequence…..

Rizzo: "Oh, yeah. I nearly fo’got about dat."

Rizzo: [Laughs A Bit]

Guy Smiley: “Hey, don’t worry about it, Rowlf, you gotta admit, you still had a real good time.”

Rowlf: “Yeah, right, that’s true.”

Miss Piggy: “Well, what are we waiting for? let’s head for the river bank.”

Every single group boards a canoe and travels right down it while listening to the sounds of the woods around them.

Prairie Dawn: “It sure is beautiful around here, isn’t it?”

Gobo: “It sure is, Prairie Dawn.”

Count Von Count: “Just think about all of the good things I could count here.”

Mokey: “Never mind that, Count, I just enjoy the wilderness here.”

Boober: “So do I, Mokey.”

Traveling Matt: “Yes, of course, when I was traveling in outer space, I visited lots of places just as wonderful as this 1, but nothing beats the nature of the rocky mountains.”

Gobo: “Well, I couldn't have said it better myself, Uncle Matt.”

Just as the wind blows gently, just as silence grows over the forest and the river, then suddenly...

Guest Star’s voice: Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy

Robin: “Did anybody just hear that just now?”

Kermit: “Hear what, Robin?”

Guest Star’s voice: sunshine in my eyes can make me cry

Robin: “That voice.”

Scooter: “I hear it too.”

Gobo: “Who’s that singing in the distance?”

Ernie: “Well, Gobo, it sounds a lot like-”

Guest Star’s voice: sunshine on the water looks so lovely

All Muppet friends: “John’s voice.”

Guest Star’s voice: sunshine almost always makes me high

Kermit: “It looks like John’s watching over us right now.”

Walter: “He sure is though.”

Guest Star’s voice: if I had a day that I could give you

I’d give to you a day just like today

if I had a song that I could sing for you

I’d sing a song to make you feel this way

if I had a tale that I could tell you

I’d tell a tale sure to make you smile

if I had a wish that I could wish for you

I’d make a wish for sunshine all the while

Guest star’s voice and Muppet friends: sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy

sunshine in my eyes can make me cry

sunshine on the water looks so lovely

sunshine almost always makes me high

sunshine almost all the time makes me high

sunshine almost always………..

Even though John’s no longer with them, he’s always with them spiritually in the skies of heaven.

Just as the Muppet friends reach the edge of the river bank, the time has now come to show Walter the very special surprise they planned for him.

Kermit: “Alright, everybody, we’re here.”

Walter: “Where are we?”

Rowlf: “Remember the fun surprise we told you about right before we came here?”

Walter: “Oh yeah.”

Scooter: “Well, I think it’s about time we show it to you, Walter.”

Walter: “Really, guys?”

Big Bird: “That’s right, Walter, but 1st, close your eyes.”

Walter: “Won't I be bumpng into trees and big rocks?”

Robin: “Don’t worry about it, Walter, we’ll lead you right to it, and make sure you don’t bump into anything else.”

Walter: “Alright.”

Walter covers his eyes.

The Muppet friends slowly lead Walter to the very special place they spoke about.

Gobo: "Alright, we’re here."

Baby Bear: “Alwight, on the count of thwee, Waltew, you open youw eyes, alwight?”

Walter: “Alright, Baby Bear.”

All Muppet friends: “1, 2, and 3.”

Just as Walter opens his eyes, all he sees is the most beautiful scenery of nature all around him, the sounds of the wind blowing and the river rushing by and he sees a group of rocks in a short area.

Walter: “Hey, what is this place?”

Kermit: “Believe this or not, this is the John Denver Memorial Sanctuary.”

Walter: “Wow, I’ve never heard of this place before.”

Zoe: “That’s because it was made a very long time ago.”

Miss Piggy: “This was made especially for John in his loving memories."

Dr. Teeth: “And his true love of Colorado and its nature.”

Walter: “Wow, it’s very beautiful here.”

Gobo: “That’s exactly why we brought you here.”

Wembley: “We knew you would enjoy it.”

Mokey: “What are all of these rocks for?”

Gonzo: “They got John’s good songs engraved on them so when other people look at them, they’re reminded that he may be gone off to a much better place, but his musical career still lives on.”

Boober: “Wow, I can’t believe this place was made in his memories.”

Fozzie: “Yeah right, I think he would’ve been proud if he saw this place.”

Scooter: “So do I, Fozzie.”

Flashback Sequence………

Guest Star: You know I love the trail I’m on

and the friends who ride with me

the country that we’re passing through

is a paradise to see

a haven for my spirit

the homeland of my dreams

my heart flies through the wilderness

and on an eagle’s wings

and oh I love the waterfall

and the way the river sings

from snowcapped peaks both proud and tall

through forests deep and green

the highway of the mountains

the lifeblood of the land

I can hear my mother speak to me

and hold my father’s hand

durango mountain caballero

take me for a ride

on the backbone of this mighty land

the continental divide

to the place where earth and heaven meet

the mountains and the sky

in the heart of Colorado

rocky mountain high

and oh I love the campfire

and the circle that I’m in

the stories and the laughter

they should never ever end

forever in my memory

forever in my song

on a San Juan mountain trail ride

I’ll carry you along

End Flashback Sequence………

[Music Begins Again]

Kermit: He was born in the summer of his 27th year coming home to a place he’d never been before

he left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again, you might say he found a key for every door

Miss Piggy: when he first came to the mountains, his life was far away, all alone and hanging by a song, but the strings already broken and he doesnt really care, it keeps changing fast and it don’t last for long

Both: the Colorado rocky mountain high, I’ve seen it raining fire in the sky

shadows from the starlight is softer than a lullaby

rocky mountain high

rocky mountain high

Fozzie: he climbed cathedral mountains, he saw sliver clouds below, he saw everything as far as you can see

and they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun and he lost a friend, but kept his memory

Gobo: now he walks in quiet solitude, the forest and the streams seeking grace in every step he takes

his side has turned inside himself to try and understand the serenity of a clear, blue mountain lake

All Muppet friends: the Colorado rocky mountain high, I’ve seen it raining fire in the sky, you can talk to God and listen to the casual reply

rocky mountain high

rocky mountain high

Rizzo: now his life was full of wonder, but his heart still knows some fear of a simple thing he cannot comprehend

why they try to tear the mountains down and bring in a couple more, more people, more scars upon the land

All Muppet friends: the Colorado rocky mountain high, I’ve seen it raining fire in the sky though he’d be a poor man if he never saw an eagle fly

rocky mountain high

rocky mountain high

rocky mountain high

rocky mountain high

[Music Ends]

The camera zooms in on the biggest rock that says, "I am a song, I live to be sung, I sing with all my heart, John Denver: Composer, Musician, Father, Son, Brother, Friend-December 31, 1943-October 12, 1997

It’s now night time and the moon is shining bright on the water side.

The Muppet friends have gathered around a lit campfire getting ready to sing some more songs and tell stories about John’s memories right before they sleep for the entire night.

[Music Playing In Background]

Kermit: Inch by inch, row by row

gonna make this garden grow

all it takes is a rake and a hoe and a piece of fertile ground

inch by inch, row by row

someone bless these seeds I sow

someone warm them from below 'til the rain comes tumbling down

pulling weeds and picking stones

man is made of dreams and bones

feel the need to grow my own 'cause the time is close at hand

grain for grain, sun and rain

find my way in nature's chain

tune my body and my brain to the music of the land

Muppet friends: inch by inch, row by row

Kermit: plant your rows straight and long

and temper them with prayer and song

Mother Earth will make you strong if you give her love and care

Other Muppet friends: love and care

as old crow watches hungrily from his perch in yonder tree

in my garden, I’m as free as that feathered thief up there

Muppet friends: inch by inch, row by row

All Muppet friends: inch by inch, row by row

Kermit: gonna make this garden grow

all it takes is a rake and a hoe and a piece of fertile ground

All Muppet friends: inch by inch, row by row

someone bless these seeds I sow

someone warm them from below 'til the rain comes tumbling down

Kermit: ‘til the rain comes tumbling down

Muppet friends: inch by inch, row by row……..

Scooter: “That song is incredibly good.”

Telly: “I know, Scooter, I like that song.”

Mokey: “John always sang that song very beautifully.”

Rowlf: “I sure do miss John a lot more than anything.”

Pepe: “Si, so do I, Rowlf.”

Kermit: “Well, we all do, you guys, but the good thing is that we always have the good times we’ve had with him in our memories.”

Fozzie: “It’s true, Kermit, just like the time he told all of us about the story of the giant man-eating chicken.”

Wembley: “Wait just 1 minute, what?”

Gonzo: “The giant man-eating chicken, Wembley.”

Grover: “Is there really 1 around here? I get so terrified and nervous thinking about those things.”

Gonzo: “Of course, Grover, I tried to get a date with her, but she was already with a giant rooster.”

Janice: “We’re lucky none of us got injured, she only comes around if she smells chicken feathers in 1 person’s sleeping bag.”

Clifford: “Fast question, does anybody have chicken feathers in their sleepin’ bags?”

They all pat down their sleeping bags to check.

All Muppet friends: “No we don’t.”

Clifford: “That’s good, we should all be safe and secure.”

Boober: “Oh, Clifford, you always say that.”

Gonzo: “And besides, she's with that rooster right now.”

Clifford: “You really wanted a date with her, right, Gonzo?”

Gonzo: “Well, yeah, right, Walter.”

Kermit: “Never mind that, right after that story, we all got a good laugh and sang this real good song, alright, everybody, 1, 2, 3 and 4.”

[Music Begins Again]

Kermit: When I was an itty bitty tad just up of the floor

we used to go down to Grandma's house every month end or so

have chicken pie, country ham and homemade butter on the bread

but the best darn thing about Grandma's house was her great big feather bed

All Muppet friends: it was 9 feet high, 6 feet wide and soft as a downy chick

it was made from the feathers of 40 ‘leven geese, took a whole bolt of cloth for a tick

it’d hold 8 kids and 4 hound dogs and the piggy we stole from the shed

we didn’t get much sleep, but we had a lot of fun on Grandma’s feather bed

after supper, we’d sit around the fire, the old folks spit and chew

Pa would talk about the farm and the war and Granny’d sing a ballad or 2

and I’d sit and listen and watch the fire 'til the cobwebs fill my head

and the next thing I know I'd wake up in the morning in the middle of the old feather bed

Kermit and Muppet friends: it was 9 feet high, 6 feet wide and soft as a downy chick

and I’d sit and listen and watch the fire 'til the cobwebs fill my head

and the next thing I know I'd wake up in the morning in the middle of the old feather bed

well I love my ma and I love my pa, I love Granny and Grandpa, too

I went fishing with my uncle, I'd wrestle with my cousin, I even kissed Aunt Lou, oooooh

but if I ever had to make a choice, I guess it oughta be said

that I'd trade it all plus the gal down the road for Grandma's feather bed

All Muppet friends: it was 9 feet high, 6 feet wide and soft as a downy chick

it was made from the feathers of 40 ‘leven geese, took a whole bolt of cloth for a tick

[Music Ends]

Red: “That song is lots of fun and exciting.”

Gobo: “It’s catchy too.”

Scooter: “That was exactly what’s great about John’s memories, he always liked having fun and excitment along with all of us.”

Fozzie: “But still, we would always have a real good time just like when we did this song on The Muppet Show season 4 episode 401 , alright, Kermit, play it like we did before.”

Kermit: [Playing Music On Banjo]

Fozzie: Well life on the farm is kinda laid back

ain’t much an old country boy like me can’t hack

it’s early to rise, early in the sack

thank God I'm a country boy

well a simple kind of life never did me no harm

raising me a family and working on the farm

my days are all filled with an easy country carm

thank God I'm a country boy

Kermit and Muppet friends: well, I got me a fine wife, I got me old fiddle

sun’s coming up, I got cakes on the griddle

life ain’t nothin’ but a funny, funny riddle

thank God I’m a country boy

when the work's all done and the sun's setting low

I pull out my fiddle and rosin’ up the bow

the kids are asleep so I keep it kinda low

thank God I’m a country boy

I’d play Sally Goodin all day if I could

but the Lord and the wife wouldn't take it very good

so I fiddle when I can, work when I should

thank God I'm a country boy

Kermit and Muppet friends: well, I got me a fine wife, I got me old fiddle

sun’s coming up, I got cakes on the griddle

life ain’t nothin’ but a funny, funny riddle

thank God I’m a country boy

when the work's all done and the sun's setting low

I pull out my fiddle and rosin’ up the bow

the kids are asleep so I keep it kinda low

thank God I’m a country boy

I’d play Sally Goodin all day if I could

but the Lord and the wife wouldn't take it very good

so I fiddle when I can, work when I should

thank God I'm a country boy

All Muppet friends: well I wouldn’t trade mine for diamonds or jewels

I never was 1 of them money hungry fools

I’d rather have my fiddle and my farming tools

thank God I'm a country boy

city folk driving in a black limousine

a lot of sad people thinking that’s mighty keen

son, let me tell you exactly what I mean

thank God, I’m a country boy

Kermit and Muppet friends: well, I got me a fine wife, I got me old fiddle

sun's coming up, I got cakes on the griddle

life ain't nothin’ but a funny, funny riddle

thank God I’m a country boy

when the work's all done and the sun's setting low

I pull out my fiddle and rosin’ up the bow

the kids are asleep so I keep it kinda low

thank God I’m a country boy

but the Lord and the wife wouldn't take it very good

so I fiddle when I can, work when I should

thank God I'm a country boy

All Muppet friends: well my fiddle was my daddy’s 'til the day he died

and he took me by the hand, held me close to his side

he said “Live a good life, play your fiddle with pride”

thank God I’m a country boy

my daddy taught me young, how to hunt and how to whittle

and taught me how to work and play a tune on the fiddle

taught me how to love and how to give just a little

thank God I’m a country boy

Kermit and Muppet friends: well, I got me a fine wife, I got me old fiddle

sun’s coming up, I got cakes on the griddle

life ain’t nothin’ but a funny, funny riddle

[Song Ends]

Just as the evening draws to a closing end, everybody else begins to settle right into their sleeping bags and they sing 1 more song that means a lot to them, especially with John no longer being there with them for very many years.

Kermit: “Well, everybody, it’s getting late, we better get some shut eye.”

Gonzo: “Yeah, that’s right, I’m very tired.”

Fozzie: “I think all of us are, Gonzo.”

Robin: “Wait just 1 minute, why don’t we all sing 1 more song right before we fall asleep?”

Scooter: “I think I know which 1 you’re speaking about, Robin.”

[Music In Background]

Scooter: It’s in every 1 of us to be wise

With Kermit and Robin: find your heart, open up both your eyes

All Muppet friends: we can all know everything without ever knowing why

it’s in every 1 of us, by and by

it’s in every 1 of us to be wise

find your heart, open up both your eyes

we can all know everything without ever knowing why

it's in every 1 of us, by and by, by and by………

[Music Ends]

Kermit, Piggy and their Muppet friends fall asleep, knowing that they’ve had a real good camping trip and knowing that their guest star, John in the skies of heaven would be proud that his good friends, the Muppet gang, are always thinking about him respectively.

(cut to - The Big Blue House, Night falls in, Cut - The Attic)

Bear: Ah, The Attic. Isn't it Great? Sometimes I just like to come out here and look out at the stars. It's also where I come up to talk to a special friend. Let's go see if we can find her.

(Cut to: Balcony - Night)

Bear: Ah, there she is. It's Luna, my friend, the Moon. Hello, Luna.

Luna: Why, Hello, Bear. Hello, everybody. I was just watching the world turn under the glow of my light.

Bear: Aw, and we're glad you're up there, Luna.

Pip: Yeah.

Luna: So, tell me, How was your day in The Big Blue House?

Bear: Well, we all worked all together to honor John Denver.

Luna: Really?

Ojo: First, we took Walter inside.

Luna: That sounds like fun.

Treelo: Then I made bell sounds.

Luna: Oh, sounds.

Pip and Pop: And we made a telephone.

Luna: And what about you, Tutter?

Tutter: Well, Uh, (clears throat) Uh, Miss Luna, I was, um, just, um, dancing.

Luna: And Bear, what did you do today?

Bear: Well, I did get this tape of Relaxing Sounds, but I'd never got a chance to listen to them.

Luna: But, Bear, I think you did get to hear your Relaxing Sounds after all.

Bear: Really?

Luna: Listen, Bear. Just listen for a minute.

Bear: Oh, you're right, Luna. The Crickets, The Water, The Wind in the Trees. What wonderful sounds.

Tutter: You know what? It, it's not so bad out here. It's not so bad at all.

Bear: See, Tutter, we told you.

Tutter: Do you see that sanctuary? The John Denver Memorial Sanctuary?

Luna: Well, let me see. Oh yes, there it is.

Bear: Wow, you really can see everything from up there.

Luna: Yes. Every year at this time, there's something I wish for that I hope will come true.

Bear: Really? What is it?

Luna: I wish everyone all across the world would smile on each other a little more. Because no matter how you celebrate the winter holidays, the important thing is that we all celebrate in our own different ways, together.

Bear: True, true. Why, that's right, Luna.

Luna: What can I say? I'm the Moon.

Bear: True, true.

Luna: Well, you've had a great camping day, guess I'd better getting back up into the sky.

Tutter: Oh.

Luna: Well, there are other campsites that need my light tonight.

Tutter: Mmm.

Luna: Besides, I've got a lot more of the Earth to see to get through.

Bear: Well, Luna, would you join us and singing The Goodbye Song before you go?
