The Legend of Claramond: Lost in the Light received critical acclaim for it's animation, writing, humour and character development and has been considered an improvement over it's predecessor. The review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes reports that 93% of critics gave the film a positive review based on 212 reviews, with an average score of 7.6/10. The site's consensus states: "A fun action-packed new adventure for Claramond and her friends with the right amount of quirkyness, but also seriousness and emotional depth that puts the franchise back on track." Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 from top reviews from mainstream critics, calculated a score of 79 based on 46 reviews, indicating "Generally favourable reviews." In CinemaScore polls, cinema audiences gave The Legend of Claramond: Lost in the Light an average score of "A" on an A to F scale.
