The Hunter is a human and an antagonist in the Animal Quartet.

Background[]

The hunter loves to hunt. But he wants all of his dogs, including Bruce, to hunt with him. This man is very strict when it comes to hunting. He can't stand Bruce singing instead of obeying him.

The hunter is an auburn-haired man with a goatee. Like any hunter, he wears a red coat, a white shirt and pants, a black hat and boots. Also like any modern-day hunter, he hunts with a gun instead of a bow and arrow.

Appearances[]

In the movie, the hunter is seen in a valley with his hunting pack while mounted on his horse. He tells his dogs that he wants all of them to hunt. After blowing his horn, the hunt begins, but Bruce refuses to join the hunt and prefers to sing to the forest animals in a glade. When the hunter finds out about this, he is not at all pleased. He interrupts the song with a shot from his gun, frightening away the animals. Angry at Bruce for disobeying him, he threaten to hunt the dog and make him into a hunting trophy for his collection. The hunter orders his other dogs to hunt Bruce while firing at him. Fortunately, Bruce escapes and the hunter calls his dogs back, vowing that he won't miss the next time Bruce comes around.

When the hunter reads about Bruce becoming a musician with Miles, Elizabeth, and Stevenson in Bremen, he is not very pleased and is still upset about his dog escaping. He thinks the band won't last for very long and feels no remorse for how he mistreated Bruce.

When the hunter watches a news interview about the quartet defeating the Music-meister he realizes that the way he treated Bruce was wrong. He comes to Bremen, calling the dog, much to his shock. The hunter apologizes to him for trying to hunt him and invites him to come back as well as let him do his own thing, but when Bruce realizes that he would be separated from his friends, his ex-master lets him stay with his allies, saying that he has plenty of dogs.

At the end, the hunter (along with his other dogs) is at the concert and he cheers for Bruce when it's over.

Video Games[]

The hunter appears in the Animal Quartet video game as a non-playable character and the third boss to defeat. He first appears in the valley and can only be defeated by Bruce when the dog collects his power cards to activate his biting. Once defeated, the hunter ends up sitting down with stars spinning around his head. Just like in the movie, he reforms and allows Bruce to stay with his friends.

Trivia[]
