The Awgwas are the main antagonists in the Life and Adventures of Santa Claus.
Background[]
The Awgwas are not very nice at all, they are real bad news. Neither mortal nor immortal, yet they have the power to make themselves invisible; at least only to humans. These horrible monstrosities live on a mountain near the Laughing Valley and make children do terrible things, for the only thing that makes them happy is when others are unhappy. So they'll do anything to get Santa Claus out of the way, now that he's making toys and bringing happiness to children. Fortunately for Santa, his friends from Burzee are by his side and will do anything to protect him; even if it means having to fight the Awgwas.
Awgwas are terrifying gray creatures with sharp teeth, red eyes, navy blue horns, tails with navy blue cubes, three fingers on each hand, and two toes on each foot. The King of the Awgwas is much bigger than his subjects and wears a crown made of stone.
Appearance[]
In the movie, Claus receives a threat from the Awgwa King saying that the creatures will come for him if he makes another toy and it will take more than Herb to stop them. After Herb and the little helpers inform Claus about the Awgwas, he refuses to stop making toys not caring what they say and that he and his friends must be on their guard.
When Claus is asleep, the Awgwas, having heard what he said, carry out their plan. They knock out Herb, sneak into Claus' house, trap the little helpers, tie up Claus, and banish him to the Jungle of Ethop where there are panthers, pythons, and poisonous spiders. Luckily, since Claus had learned to speak the languages of Immortals, he calls jungle Knooks for help and they send him home unharmed while calling off the animals.
Next, the Awgwas try imprisoning the toymaker in their mountain cave, but Claus quickly calls the Fairies for help and they also send him home in one piece. After that, the Immortals put their Seals on Claus' house to keep the Awgwas out, but that doesn't stop the bad creatures.
Once Claus has made enough toys and heads for the village to deliver them, the Awgwas appear everywhere he goes, stealing one load of toys after another and hide them in their cave. Once the toymaker tells his immortal friends what has happened, Ak tries to reason with the Awgwas, but they refuse to leave Claus alone since they accept themselves for who they are too much and never believe that anything good can actually come from being good.
So the Master Woodsman declares war with them. The Immortals and the Awgwas, along with other wicked creatures, prepare for battle. During the battle, Ak chops the Awgwa King in two with his magic axe and the Wood Nymphs turn all the other Awgwas into clods of earth with one swipe from their enchanted willow branches, thus making the Awgwas extinct and the Immortals victorious as well as allowing Claus to continue his toymaking. The Fairies even return the stolen toys to Claus. The Awgwas are never seen again for the rest of the film.
Video Game[]
The Awgwas appear in the video game trying to do what they can to stop Santa from accomplishing his goal. They can only be defeated by Ak, Necile, and Kilter.
