Tariku is the main antagonist of Disney's 2027 animated feature film The Royal Nigerian. He is the King of Somalia who grows with vengeances, filling his kingdom of innocent slaves who are dragged from their burned villages, and has goals to destroy the Kingdom of Nigeria, ruled by Amadau and Thema. Until he comes face to face with their son, Anathi who was worthy of foiling Tariku's plans.
Tariku is loosely based on the character of the same name from The Royal Nigerian folk tale (the book that inspired the film). He is also the third Disney Villain to be African, the first being Scar from The Lion King, and Kazar from The Wild, and the second to be black, the first being Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog.
Background[]
Tariku was born to a royal blood of the Somalian Kingdom, but grew up with no heart and cruel attitude. Causing him to be the most dangerous African ruler of other kingdoms, and has been destroying small villages out there, having the innocent people taken to him, and make them his palace slaves.

After his kingdom was destroyed in the first film, Tariku lived in a wasteland, and didn't feel like king anymore. So he stands up, and leaves his home to seeks revenge on the Nigerians, including the prince, Anathi.

- His name originally going to be Lord Zahour, as he was meant to be governor of the Somalian kingdom, but it was later turn down, and was given role as king.
