Steve Irwin (22 February 1962 – 4 September 2006), also known as "The Crocodile Hunter", was an Australian zookeeper and television personality who appeared as a prominent guest star on the Wiggly Safari album and video, and co-wrote several songs on the album as well. His family, wife Terri and daughter Bindi, also appeared in the Wiggly Safari video and would later appear again in the Duets video, the latter also featuring son Robert and archived footage of Irwin.
Irwin received international acclaim for his various television series, including the wildlife documentary show The Crocodile Hunter and other shows such as Croc Files, The Crocodile Hunter Diaries, and New Breed Vets, all of which he co-hosted with his wife Terri. Together, the couple also co-owned and operated Australia Zoo, which remains operated by the Irwin family to this day.
In 2006, while filming a documentary in the Great Barrier Reef, Irwin died from an injury caused by a stingray attack.
