Sunmary[]
Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker tries to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York City with fighting crime as his superhero alter ego Spider-Man under guidance from his mentor Tony Stark.
Plot[]
The movie opens in 2016, with Peter recording his trip to Germany with Tony Starkand Happy Hogan. Stark tells him to never show the footage, while making jokes. It skips to a hotel where Peter is staying with Happy. When it comes time to suit up, Peter learns he didn't check the other room of his suite which contains a new Spider-Man suit from Stark. Peter records his entrance to the Avengers as well.
Later, Peter is taken by home by Stark, who allows him to keep the new suit. Despite Peter's desire to be an Avenger, Stark tells him to stay a street-level hero (see the Defenders as an example) and make regularly reports to Happy, who will update Stark on his progress.
Months pass with Peter making updates; however, he keeps losing backpacks with his street clothes and ditching detention for when he's late to school. He comes across robbers at an ATM, who are using Chitauri technology in the crime. Peter reports this, hoping to get involved with taking down the criminals selling alien tech; however, Stark turns him down. Ignoring the warning, Peter investigates. This leads Peter nto a fight with the Shocker, who is in the middle of a sale; Peter barely survives the attack.
Elsewhere, Shocker returns to his boss Adrian Toomes, who is angry he got too loud with sales and attracted Spider-Man's attention. Shocker threatens to tell Toomes' family that he makes money off the Black market; however, he is killed by accident when Toomes uses what he thought was a gravity gun. He gives Shocker's weapon to another of the crew, passing the moniker; Toomes tells Tinkerer to get ready for the next robbery.

Development[]
In February 2015, Columbia Pictures announced that they were ending their rights dispute with Disney and working together with Marvel Studios to produce Spider-Man movies set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as Spider-Man appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that appeared in Captain America: Civil War.
The new Spider-Man movie was set to be released in July 7, 2017. It is a full reboot taking place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.[1]

On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 92% based on 369 reviews, with an average rating of 7.66/10. The website's critical consensus reads, "Spider-Man: Homecoming does whatever a second reboot can, delivering a colorful, fun adventure that fits snugly in the sprawling MCU without getting bogged down in franchise-building."

- In the official trailer, the theme song was titled "Time to Pretend", sung by MGMT.
- Michael Keaton dropped out of Cars 3 to had a role in this film.

- Vulture's suit was fully made out of technology unlike in the comics.
