Synopsis[]
In Marvel Studios' new series "Secret Invasion", set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.
Plot[]
Following the events of Captain Marvel, Nick Fury has made it his goal to find a new home world for the Skrulls, however this has ended in failure with one Skrull in particular, Gravik, leading an army of rebels who have decided to take Earth as their own. Fury, having spent the past couple of years on the spaceship S.A.B.E.R., returns to Earth upon learning of Gravik's rise to power. He reunites with partner Maria Hill and lone Skrull ally Talos who inform Fury of Gravik's plans. Talos' wife Soren has been killed and his daughter G'iah has joined Gravik's cause. Fury is also confronted by MI6 agent Sonya Falsworth who has her own ideas on how to deal with the Skrulls.
During one particular mission, G'iah discovers that Gravik killed Soren while Hill is killed by Gravik disguised as Fury. This fuels Fury's efforts to stop Gravik at all costs as he also reunites with the Skrull Varra, who has been posing as Fury's human wife Priscilla. Talos manages to get G'iah to rejoin their cause after she discovers that Gravik has been experimenting with having Skrulls wield powers using the DNA of the various creatures and superheroes. It is further revealed that Col. James Rhodes had been replaced with a Skrull named Raava some time ago and has been working under President Ritson in an effort to fuel paranoia in him. Gravik has been keeping the missing humans on an abandoned Russian compound where the Skrulls have been staying and wants Ritson to attack said base
Gravik leads an attack on the President, during which Talos is killed. The President survives, but Raava, as Rhodey, tries to convince him that the Russians were behind the attack. Gravik's followers begin to question his methods as he continues to instill fear in them. Fury reveals to Sonya that Gravik is after "The Harvest", a collection of all the superheroes' DNA and in an effort to end the threat decides to give it to him. In a twist, G'iah, disguised as Fury, gives Gravik the DNA and tricks him into empowering both of them, while Fury and Sonya rescue the President from Raava and convince him to call off the strike on the Russian compound. G'iah successfully kills Gravik and rescues the missing humans including Rhodey and Everett Ross.
Ritson, traumatized by the event, calls for an indiscriminate attack on all Skrulls and extraterrestrials. Fury chastises the president for the decision as he has created unintentional vigilantes who are now obsessed with killing innocents and warns him of the dangers he has caused and his future as president. Sonya, now knowing the truth about the Skrulls, decides to recruit G'iah for an upcoming project. Fury decides to return to S.A.B.E.R. now that his mission is complete and informs Varra that Kree-Skrull peace talks are happening, much to her bemusement. Still in love with him, she agrees to return to space temporarily for him so that she can be an ambassador.

Council member Shirley Sagar, who refuses to submit, secretly contacts Talos, who asks her to set up a meeting between him and Gravik. In London, Fury meets with Colonel James Rhodes and explains to him the Skrull threat. To Fury's dismay, Rhodes gives him a military discharge, due to his presence at the bombing attack which escalated the tension between the United States and other international governments. Falsworth arrives at a butcher shop, where one of the Skrulls, Brogan, is imprisoned, and interrogates him. She learns that Gravik is building a machine for the purpose of strengthening the Skrulls, and a scientist couple named Dalton is involved. G'iah secretly discovers that the Skrulls are experimenting on various alien samples. Afterwards, she accompanies Gravik on a mission to rescue Brogan. After Talos stabs Gravik in the hand and leaves, Gravik heals his hand with the Extremis soldier's abilities. G'iah secretly sends Talos information about the attack while Fury meets with him and pleads to work together again. Fury contacts Falsworth and learns the name of the Naval Command Headquarters' officer in charge, Commodore Robert Fairbanks. Fury and Talos arrive at the HQ and interrogate Fairbanks, but the latter provokes Talos to kill him as he regresses back to a Skrull. Talos contacts G'iah, who acquires Fairbanks' authorization code, allowing them to abort the launch in time. G'iah attempts to ride off on her motorcycle, but is spotted by Gravik who suspected her of betrayal. When Gravik orders her to return to the compound, G'iah turns him down and is shot by him. Fury later confronts Priscilla over this but they make amends after she reveals that she took an oath to her human counterpart to never harm her lover. Fury visits Rhodes and shares a drink with him to secretly give Rhodes a liquid tracker. Fury and Talos then follow him as he goes to pick up Ritson for talks with Russia. Meanwhile, Fury gets Ritson to a hospital and confronts Rhodes, but he reveals he leaked footage of Hill's death, placing Fury on a global watchlist. Fury later meets with G'iah, who reveals Gravik is looking for the "Harvest". After exposing her boss Derrik Weatherby as a Skrull, Falsworth locates Dr. Rosa Dalton, a disguised Skrull, and questions her about Gravik's DNA machine. Rhodes shows Ritson pictures of Gravik's Russian base New Skrullos to implicate Russia as Skrull sympathizers and advise a strike on the compound. Gravik calls Fury, offering to call off the strike if he brings him the "Harvest" in person. G'iah and Priscilla hold a funeral for Talos and fend off an attack by Gravik's men. In Finland, Fury leads Falsworth to a grave marked with his name which contains the "Harvest" (a collection of the DNA from the superheroes who fought during the Battle of Earth). Fury grabs the Harvest and prepares to confront Gravik. | ||||
6 | "Home" | Ali Selim | Kyle Bradstreet and Brian Tucker | July 26, 2023 |

The two battle one another, but G'iah eventually gains the upper hand and kills Gravik. Meanwhile, Raava successfully convinces Ritson to authorize a nuclear strike on New Skrullos, but is tricked by Falsworth into arranging an evacuation for Ritson. Falsworth and the real Fury confront Raava and reveal the truth to Ritson. Raava attempts to retaliate, but is killed by Fury. Ritson calls off the strike, allowing G'iah to free the humans trapped under New Skrullos, including the real Ross and Rhodes. In the aftermath, Ritson issues a new bill declaring all off-world species as hostile forces and threatens to hunt down the remaining Skrulls on Earth, causing unrest as civilians publicly murder random high-profile officials. Falsworth meets with G'iah and proposes a partnership to help protect the Skrulls against Ritson's bill. Fury asks Varra to come to S.A.B.E.R. with him to help negotiate a peace summit with the Kree. She agrees, and they leave Earth together. |
