Sawyer, the wood dragon is the main antagonist of The Breathless Dragon. He is the older brother of Cresil who used him to start a chaotic serch for while he tried to break the balance of demons on earth.

- Sawyer is the first villain dragon since Maleficent.
Similarities with other Disney characters[]
- Sawyer has some similarites with Mother Gothel from Tangled for both lie to their wards without letting them know until the story (Mother Gothel kidnapped Rapunzel and said that the world is dangerously evil and Sawyer lied to Cresil that he likes him and that not breathing fire makes him useless).
- Sawyer has some similarities to Scar from The Lion King as both try to blind the protagonist, with Scar using lava to do so while Sawyer uses his claws.
