Petrov hails from a tiny village on the Baltic Sea where temperatures in winter drop down to a frigid -10C. And if that's not enough, the salty air and rocky roadways have irreversibly corroded his body panels. But Petrov really doesn't mind. In fact, he likes his engine air very cool, and thinks the bubbling rust makes him look more 'mileage mature'. Add the fact that he carries most of his weight in his rear-end and it's a wonder he doesn't break in half when the going gets rough.[1]
Personality[]
Petrov Trunkov wasn't showed very much of his personality in Cars 2. However he was seen with all the other Lemons being a bit murderous while confronting and ambushing Finn McMissile, and preparing to burn him.
Physical appearanc[]
Petrov is painted light green, with a rusty bumper and lower bottom indicators. His rims are brown and rusty, as well his headlights, and the rest of his body.
He is modeled after a ZAZ-968 Zaporozhets with one adjustment: the letter T on his front bumper which stands for his last name; Trunkov. According to his diecast, his license plate is 19-71 SMK, the same of Vladimir Trunkov and a Tolga Trunkov.
Petrov can be seen in the army of lemons at the Oil Rig. Concept art[2] shows a light green Trunkov, that appears to be Petrov, in the airport chase scene. However, the car in question does not appear in the final movie, and seems to have been replaced by Grem as the operator of the Lemon's camera at Porto Corsa. This evidence suggests Petrov was originally meant to be a major henchman, similar to Acer and Grem.
Trivia[]
Concept art reveals that Petrov was originally going to be one of the main two lemons (with Acer), but was later replaced with Grem.
His name varies (incorrectly) in merchandise: Zapor, Petrov Oilski (shown by the Geotrax toy version of him), and Trunkov.
It is revealed in the Cars Magazines that he is known to be very dangerous.
His color and model look similar to a skull.
Petrov is modeled as a ZAZ-968 Zaporozhets with one adjustment: the letter T on his front bumper which stands for his last name; Trunkov.
According to his die-cast and LEGO version, Petrov's license plate is 19-71 SMK. In the movie, during the fight in London, when Holley crashed two Pacers into two Trunkovs with her wings, the Trunkov on the right has that license plate. The one on the left has 70-21 SCB.
The Geo Trax toy version of him shows his name as "Petrov Oilski" instead of Petrov Trunkov.
He has a Latin letter S in his license plate, however, it's can be only Russian letters in Soviet license plate type.
He has a short cameo in World Grand Prix Races game.
Similarly, a playset called "Cars 2 Spy Jet Escape" shows Grem and Petrov chasing Mater in the background, instead of Grem and Acer like in the final movie. Both the set and die-cast were released before the movie.
Petrov is also included in the LEGO Cars 2 set 9483: Agent Mater's Escape as the operator of the Lemons' camera at Porto Corsa. This evidence suggests Petrov was meant to be a major henchman, with a role similar to Acer and Grem.
