Pepsi is a soft drink that has been manufactured by PepsiCo. Under its original name "Pepsi-Cola", Pepsi was a corporate sponsor for from its opening day in until . Interestingly, Disneyland's opening day event didn't go very smoothly. Among its unfortunate mishaps, it generated negative publicity since Pepsi sponsored the park's opening and many park guests were very disappointed to believe that the inoperable fountains were a cynical way to sell soda. Actually, a plumbers' strike had forced to choose either more drinking fountains or more restrooms, and he choose the restrooms. As Walt put it, "People can buy Pepsi, but they can't pee in the streets." Additionally, citizens in Sugar Rush have appeared as several of its brands.
The discontinued Pepsi Blue variant is prominently featured in the Weird World franchise and has become one of the franchise's most popular gags, an internet phenomenon and a popular meme. The original Pepsi as well as other versions has also been used quite a lot.
Disney have even teamed up with Pepsi to create a series of commercials showing George Jacqueline giving out a Pepsi on hot days with the slogan "Every Pepsi Refreshes the World".
