The "Overture" is the opening musical number of The Chipmunks and the Chipettes Join the Disney Family, performed by the Buena Vista Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Nobuko Toda. It starts with the re-orchestrated rendition of "When You Wish Upon a Star" for the Walt Disney Pictures logo and also includes:

Once upon a time, in the faraway land of Walt Disney World, there was a magic kingdom. In a colorful castle as radiant as a jewel, there lived a wise and wealthy king named Mickey Mouse, and his loverly queen named Minnie Mouse. There in the hidden depths of the castle, they kept a mystical sphere called the Cornerstone of Light which proclaimed the magic of the legendary powers. Powers that protected their kingdom against the evils of the outside worlds and prevented those who were greedy, corrupt and cruel to others from entering there. For many years, King Mickey and Queen Minnie had ruled the most magical place on Earth with peace, prosperity, and kindness. But throughout the land, while everyone flourished and was very happy... they longed for children to love and care for as their own.
Meanwhile in the countryside further beyond its borders, a peasant widow lived in a treehouse in the woods with her three little sons, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. Although her beloved children had great dreams, the boys' loving mother told them that she was one of the young king and queen's comrades. But she couldn't afford them any of the king and queen's luxuries. Unless she still felt they needed a father to cash her family's world with her allies' monarchy. Then in the late autumn, they won the love of three orphan girls, Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor.
Not everyone would have guessed that a well-known composer named Dave Seville, who dwelt alone in a pristine suburban house in the city of Angel Grove, promised her that he would take care of her children and protect them as much as he could. What he didn't know from their mother was about the prophecy of her elders, that if he and his home were ever destroyed, discipline would yield to disorder, and his stepsons would be abused and humiliated. But the elders had also prophesied, that the six children might await rescue... until the day when their kindly new guardian King Mickey, the patriarch of the Disney Family would arrive to rear them... and give them the power to transform into an unstoppable fighting force, so with all the help of new powerful friends, they could win the war against evil... by the revenge for the old one.
