Oceana (2019).
Oceana is the daughter of Melody and Ursula's non-canon son, Orson, from The Little Mermaid 2 reboot.
She's a once inconceivable mermaid-octopid hybrid, who has to deal with the fact she doesn't fully belong with either sides. Unlike Ariel and Melody, Oceana can't link a desire to her dissatisfaction and has to accept her life the way it is.
While her mother is royalty and has been married to her octopid father for years, octopids aren't welcome in Atlantica and plans for peace between the two fighting races still haven't been entertained. Their violent history and aggressive demeanour is a huge factor.
Oceana has to adapt herself in order to appease the Atlanticans and sit alongside her mother during visits, while her father still collects stares.
She doesn't play an actual role in the reboot and made her first online appearance at Tumblr on May 26, 2019. Created by VampireMeerkat.

Personality[]
Oceana is playfully curious, but also enjoys chaos from time to time. While not mean-spirited, her high energy can be tiresome to deal with and makes her stand out.
Because it's easier to pass as a mermaid, she tends to solely mingle with merfolk and their world, but once wished to explore her father's side and wondered if she didn't fit in better with the octopids.
When she's given this chance, she learns that the species is hard to deal with; as the males are violent and the females manipulative, with both groups constantly feeling vengeful over the smallest matters. Oceana reaches a disappointing conclusion and has to accept there'll never be a community where she can be herself.
Since she's bored by merpeople, who she likes to bother with her pranks and weird sense of humor, and feels intimidated by octopids, she only has her parents to turn to and can feel very lonely at times. Still, as an optimist, she does whatever she can to cheer herself up and tends to be the light in the room.
Unlike her mother's side of the family, Oceana can't sing and sounds extremely off-key, though isn't bothered by this. As a quarter-blood witch, her magic abilities are lacking as well.
Appearance[]
Oceana has four relatively short tentacles with half a fin at the end of each, which she can hold together to make look like a mostly unsuspicious mermaid tail.
Her hairdo resembles Ariel's, though the bangs are reversed, and her hair is black with white bangs. She wears a purple seashell top, has black tentacles, and purple fins. Her skin has a normal shade, her fingernails and eyes are blue, and she has small fangs.
