Mother Nature is the host, narrator, and one of the characters of the Just So Movie.
Background[]
Mother Nature is an immortal being and the caretaker of the earth from plants to animals. She has been around ever since the beginning of the earth, that's a fact, not a boast. It's best to care for the earth as much as she does, so don't ever get on her bad side. One of her favorite places is the Grover Zoo and her favorite group of animals is the Main Eleven. She will do anything to help them save their home and dream since she is always true to her word, but you must understand that even she can't perform miracles.
Mother Nature is a brown-skinned woman in blue and yellow robes. She has green eyes and green hair with red flowers in it. She carries a staff with a globe on top which is where her powers come from. By spinning the globe on her staff, she can make herself disappear, change form, teleport, take anyone back in time, anything really.
Appearances[]
In the movie, Mother Nature tells the viewers to come closer until she is seen as red flower, which she really is not. She takes true form, introducing herself. Then she spins the globe on her staff to teleport herself to the Grover Zoo which isn't open yet while she shows the statue of Marty Grover, founder of the zoo. She decides to tell the story to viewers while sitting by the statue.
She narrates the story, which even she is in. When Bigmouth, Humphrey, Wrinkles, Spot, Trunksworth, Joey, Penny, Arnold, Clyde, Carl, and Floyd are deciding what to do in order to save the zoo from Julia, Mother Nature appears having heard the whole thing. She informs the Main Eleven that she can't help them, but their ancestors can. She then tells them that she will take them back in time to see their ancestors; she also tells them to watch their ancestors, listen to what they say, and not interfere with their actions, then the rest will be up to the animal descendants.
True to her word, as always, Mother Nature spins her globe staff at night for the animals' time travel during their sleep. During each Just So Story, the earth caretaker is even heard telling the Main Eleven what is happen and what to do. The next day, when the Main Eleven finally figures out that they can save the zoo because their ancestors made them what they are, Mother Nature is heard singing, "It's All Up to You".
The Main Eleven tries to tell Joe about what happened and he can't understand them as he sadly decides to sell the zoo, Mother Nature appears telling the head zookeeper about what she did for the Main Eleven and that she will do the same for him. The next night, the caretaker of the earth takes Joe back in time just as she did for the animals. She also tells Joe what is happening and what to do. Not to mention, that his ancestor had dreamed of inventing the first letter and the alphabet just like his father had dreamed of opening the zoo, which finally makes Joe come to his senses.
After the zoo is saved and Julia is arrested, the animals thank Mother Nature for her help. Mother Nature narrates the end of the story where the zoo is renovated, Joe and Sally are married, and even the Main Eleven have started families. The caretaker of the earth then finishes the story, saying that another adventure is in store, but that's another story. She then hears the zoo opening and tells the viewers that she must leave since taking care of the earth is a full-time job. So she says goodbye, then disappears.
