Trivia[]

  • A previous idea was for it to focus on the arrival of British colonists to Motunui and would have been a fictionalized but historically accurate story of the exploits of the British East India Company from the perspectives of the natives. It was rejected reportedly because it would have to be the saddest film in the trilogy due to the fact that this concept would focus on the lasting effects of colonialism, meaning the villains will have to win for the plot of the film to work.
    • This concept was created under the working title of "The British Are Coming!", a reference to Paul Revere's midnight ride.
