Marty Grover was the founder of the Grover Zoo and father of Joe in the Just So Movie.
Background[]
Ever since Marty was a boy, he always dreamed of opening a zoo. Then one day, his dream came true. On the day he opened the zoo, he began running it. He was friends with the animals, including the Main Eleven. Mr. Grover even shared his dream with his son, Joe who grew up to become the head zookeeper. Unfortunately, Marty eventually died and a statue of him was built to remember him by. After his death, the zoo had become run down and less people came to visit; yet, Joe and the Main Eleven wouldn't give up on their dreams.
Marty appeared as a slender mustached man in a fedora, trench coat, necktie, khaki pants, and dress shoes.
Appearances[]
Marty is seen as his statue shown by Mother Nature. During the story, Marty is seen alive opening the zoo and running it as well as spending time with the young Main Eleven and his young son Joe who grows up to become the head zookeeper.
Some time later, Marty passes away and his statue is built. He is only mentioned throughout the rest of the film even as the zoo becomes run down and Julia McSteller threatens to shut it down if Joe doesn't pay within two days;
Joe even looks at a picture of his father, saying he would've know what to do. After the zoo is saved from getting shut down, renovated, is still in business, Marty would've been very proud of his son, his new daughter-in-law, new grandchild, and his animal friends.
Video Games[]
Marty is seen in the Just So Game as his statue and is only mentioned as well.
Trivia[]
- If Marty were still alive, he also would have not liked Julia and would have talked to Mother Nature.
