Jeffrey Warren "Jeff" Daniels is an American actor, comedian, musician, and playwright, who portrayed Roger Dearly in the 1996 Disney live-action remake of 101 Dalmatians, Dr. Ross Jennings in the 1990 thriller Arachnophobia, and Tim O'Hara in the 1999 sci-fi comedy film, My Favorite Martian.
Daniels made his film debut Miloš Forman's drama Ragtime and continued to work regularly throughout the 1980s to 1990s with films, like Terms of Endearment, Something Wild, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Heartburn, Gettysburg, Speed, Dumb and Dumber and its 2014 sequel, Pleasantville, Looper, Steve Jobs, Infamous, The Martian, The Squid and the Whale, and The Hours.
For television, He appeared as well as Will McCoy on the HBO drama series The News Room, and FBI director James Comey in The Comey Rule for Showtime. He also appeared in the miniseries Godless (2017) and The Looming Tower.
Daniels also has a stage career that saw him earn Tony Award nominations for Best Actor for his roles in the plays: Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage, David Harrower's Blackbird, and Aaron Sorkin's To Kill a Mockingbird.
