Wiggle Around the Clock is the Twenty-second Wiggles video special. It is a re-recording of the Wake Up Jeff! video special, which was released a decade earlier.

Production and Filming Locations[]

This video was filmed from January - February 2005, the same time as Here Comes The Big Red Car and TV Series 5, whereas the "Walking On The Moon" song was filmed on January 19, 2004 at the NASA Space Center.

This video was filmed at Sydney Film and Television Studios for the studio scenes, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Anzac Bridge for the We Like To Say Hello song, the Sydney Harbour for the S.S Feathersword scenes, and at NASA in the US for the Walking On The Moon song.

Plot[]

Intro - where the Wiggles pictures flash on the screen in a 4x4 grid.

The Wiggles introduce themselves.

  • Song 1: We Like To Say Hello - The Wiggles ride on their outdoor car set through Sydney traffic and bridges.

Greg points out to Henry that someone is waving hello to him, so Henry waves back. Henry announces he has his band and they'll play a song.

Murray introduces Jo and her son Alex at the beachside. Murray interviews Alex about what he likes to do at the beach.

  • Song 3: Having Fun At The Beach

Anthony sings a bunch of rhymes like "Sing Sang Song, that's Greg's song" and "snooorrre… that's Jeff's song". The SS Feathersword get into the act too and each crew member talks about their pirate item. For instance, Elefterios talks about his Pirate Bouzuki, Ben talks about his Pirate toothbrush, George talks about standing on his Pirate hands.

Jeff's fallen asleep! Greg walks up to him and asks for help to wake him up. Wake up Jeff! Jeff is awake and thanks Greg, but as soon as he leaves, Jeff falls asleep again. Same story with Anthony, and with Murray, except when Murray calls Wake Up Jeff, Jeff's still asleep (possibly because he can't hear Murray)! Murray asks for some ideas, and agrees that we would sing a song to do the trick.

Anthony and Murray sing the main verse of Bucket of Dew.

Greg asks Dorothy about a dance she is doing.

  • Song 7: Romp Bomp A Stomp - The Wiggle Dancers join this song.

Anthony is wearing a lifejacket and a captain's hat, and invites everyone to get ready for a boat trip. That means putting on the jacket, having a whistle to blow, and waving at the nearby boats.

Jeff introduces Dorothy and asks her about a dance she is doing.

Skit - Captain Feathersword is sad because today is his birthday and it seems like everyone's forgotten about it He had put signs all over, but no one has seen them. Several of the pirate crew come and visit him but when the captain asks them what day it is, they answer with everything except his birthday. Of course they all know it's his birthday but are keeping it a surprise.

Skit continues: Lucia checks that everything is ready. Now it's time to bring the captain over, but how? Adrian does a backflip and announces a plan, and Elefterios goes to get the captain. When they return, they give him a big surprise!

Greg has a challenge for Jeff: can he run? Hop? Sing? Fall asleep? Greg tells him to wake Jeff up. 1, 2, 3. Wake Up, Jeff!

  • Song 14: Guess What? - (Wiggly Animation)

Murray introduces Wags and tells him a joke, which Wags laughs at and says "That's funny, Murray!".

Interview: Greg introduces Mike Fincke, an astronaut at the NASA Johnson Space Center. He's been in space for 188 days. They talk about what it's like to fly in space, and also looking at the Earth from space. Mike shows Greg some of the features of the Apollo space suit.

  • Song 17: Walking On The Moon

Anthony plays a pipe and asks everyone to join in on the dancing fun. You can dance with a friend or by yourself; it's all good. Everyone will be all dancing the piper's waltz. It comes from beautiful Scotland.

Jeff's fallen asleep again. Greg tells everybody to wake him up one last time. 1, 2, 3, Wake Up Jeff! Jeff awakes just in time but the show's over so everyone waves goodbye.

Trivia[]

  • This special was completed on August 25, 2005.[2]
  • One scene with Murray and Anthony on guitars and Jeff on the accordion was going to appear in this video, but Greg decided that they won't get it right and they cancelled that scene while filming it, the footage of it can be found in The Bloopers.
  • The song "Guess What?" makes its video debut as a Wiggly Animation.
  • This was the last Wiggles video to be released on VHS in the US. Although a VHS release was planned for the next video, it was cancelled due to 20th Century Fox (and most major American studios) phasing out the VHS format in favor of DVD's, Blu-Rays and (later on) digital downloads.
    • This is also the only Wiggles VHS to be distributed by 20th Century Fox in the United States of the America.
  • This is also the last remake Wiggles video to be released by HIT Entertainment in North America.
  • It's also the last remake Wiggles video to feature Greg, Murray, and Jeff, which makes Anthony the only original Wiggle to appear in every video remake, plus, Sam never appeared in any video remake as the yellow Wiggle, he did however appear in this video and Here Comes the Big Red Car as Dapper Dave and one of the Wiggly Dancers.
  • Songs from this video can be seen in The Wiggles Show!.
  • It premiered on Playhouse Disney as a special on April 9, 2006, and aired again around 2007.
  • The background element from Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport was reused in Pipers Waltz.
  • The Taiwanese instrumental track for Wake Up Jeff! is played during the opening and closing credits.
  • Guess What? comes before Wave to Wags and after I Can Do So Many Things on the DVD while it comes before Wake Up Jeff! and after Having Fun At The Beach on the album.
  • The video was initially going to be released under its original Australian title in North America, as evidenced by an insert included with Here Comes The Big Red Car.
  • The intro for Bucket Of Dew/Paddy Condon From Cobar didn't make it on any of the Series 5 episodes Playing a Trick on the Captain, All Shook Up, and The Baby Crocodile, making it actually exclusive to this video.
  • Walking On The Moon was filmed at NASA in Houston, Texas, marking this the second time The Wiggles filmed a video in America, The first was The Wiggles in Disneyland.
  • The footage from Big Red Car of The Wiggly Friends in Here Comes The Big Red Car is reused for the song We Like To Say Hello.
  • Some stock footage is used from Splish Splash Big Red Boat.
  • The American DVD was pressed on February 1, 2006, two months before its American release.
  • This video marks the last usage of the P22 Daddy O Hip font.
  • This is currently the final home media release to be a remake of a pre-existing product.
  • This is the first Wiggles video to be distributed by 20th Century Fox, due to their HiT Entertainment's American distribution branch closing in early 2006.
  • The US DVD is interlaced, whereas the AUS/UK DVDs are de-interlaced.
  • Filmed early 2005 alongside Here Comes The Big Red Car and The Wiggles Show! (Series 2).
  • This is the only Wiggles VHS in North America to not be in a clamshell case.
  • The Hong Kong DVD front cover resembles the North American cover.
  • This is the last Wiggles DVD in the UK to have the 2001 HIT Entertainment logo.
  • On October 12th 2023, the video was uploaded on The Wiggles' YouTube channel, however some of the opening is cut, presumably due to YouTube's algorithm/viewership.
  • This video was released in two different aspect ratios:
    • 4:3 (Playhouse Disney airing)
    • 16:9 (All DVDs, US/CA VHS, HappyKids, The Wiggles (AVOD app), OG Wiggles, HappyKids, FilmRise)

Goofs[]

  • After Bucket of Dew we start to hear the instrumental version of Dressing Up, but during the transition from Bucket of Dew to the intro to Romp Bomp A Stomp, it switches to the instrumental version of Gulp Gulp. The actual reason is that Dorothy (Would You Like To Dance?) and Romp Bomp A Stomp have switched places.
  • In "Romp Bomp A Stomp", Dorothy is seen talking, but the song is the version from The Wiggles Movie Soundtrack, which omits her lines. In addition, during the song the edge of the set is seen at the top left corner in one scene.
  • The song selection part of the DVD menu swaps "Romp Bomp A Stomp" and "Dorothy (Would You Like To Dance?)". Because of this, when they are selected, each other is played.
  • On the back of the VHS, the picture from The Wiggle Way appears twice.
  • When The Wiggles say hello at the beginning of the video, Edge of the set can be seen.
