Inspector Gadget is an upcoming Disney live-action film based on the popular animated cartoon series of the same name. In May 2015, it was announced that a new film with a rebooted version of the character is currently in development.[1] It will be released by Walt Disney Pictures and Lin Pictures. According to the Tracking Board website, it is expected to wash away the existence of the 1999 film with Matthew Broderick, as well as the subsequent sequel with French Stewart. Classic characters Gadget, Penny, and Brain are expected to appear, once again battling their unseen enemy Dr. Claw. Lin Pictures' president of production Jonathan Eirich will oversee the development alongside Mark Bauch. The film is being developed for Disney+.[2]
