In the 1950s, a teenage girl named Friencia loves animals so much that she wished to become one. But after she had died in a fire Friencia was reincarnated as a Collie. Now, with her two new friends by her side, Friencia must find her way back to her family. All while trying to avoid a very mean dogcatcher.

Plot[]

In Binghamton, New York, around the 1950s, a teenaged girl named Friencia Winston is an animal lover. Like her friends, Friencia likes bears, eagles, lions, jackals, and other kinds of animals. Except for dogs because Friencia hated them ever since she was a toddler. Her brother, Eli, is a dog know-it-all and he'd always teased her about dogs. Friencia's parents, Sarah and Ben, tried to tell her that dogs are not bad, but she won't listen to them.

One day, after getting into an accident involving a dog, Friencia couldn't stand dogs anymore and went home to spend some time alone in her room. Ben tried to comfort Friencia while Eli teased her again. Friencia had gotten so mad, she wished that she can understand why dogs are dogs and she'd pushed Eli and Ben out of her room and slammed the door in their faces.

In the kitchen, after dinner, Sarah and Friencia were washing the dishes when Sarah had told her daughter about what she'd heard from Eli. Friencia told her mother that she just doesn't like dogs because they're so... doggy. Sarah tells Friencia that dogs are man's best friend and they've been around for thousands of years, but Friencia doesn't think so. She then went to her room and read one of her animal books.

Later that night, the apartment building was quiet, except for damaged oil tank in the basement, which was leaking oil. When a lightbulb had sparked one of the sparks had touched the oil and started a fire. Then it caused an explosion that sends fires throughout the building. The noise had alerted many people, including Friencia and her family. Everyone had gotten out of the building safely, until Friencia, Eli, and their parents are the only ones left. After Ben, Sarah, and Eli had made to the fire escape Friencia tried to follow them. But an explosion had pushed Friencia back and she was knocked out as the fire consumed her.

Friencia woke up a little startled and she'd found herself in an alleyway a few blocks away from the apartment building. Friencia was confused and wondered how she had got there. She then realized that she has paws, dog ears, a muzzle, a tail, and black and white fur all over her body. Friencia became scared and confused, so she went over to a water puddle to wash her face.

Upon doing so, Friencia looked at her reflection and found out that she's not a human being anymore, but a black and white Collie. Friencia freaks out about this and wondered how she'd became a dog. She at first thinks she is dreaming and tried to wake herself up, but it turns out that it's not a dream. So, Friencia then decided to head home and struggled to walk like a regular dog. But she doesn't know that she had walked onto the road and doesn't see a truck coming.

When Friencia looked up and saw the incoming truck, she became scared and didn't move. Just then another dog had saved Friencia right as the truck went by. Friencia looked up at the dog, which is a Dobermann, as he helped her up and asked her if she's okay. Friencia was shocked and confused because she had never heard a dog talk before. The Dobermann explained that all dogs can understand each other, including birds, cats, and other kinds of animals. But humans cannot understand them because they don't have the ability to hear what they say.

After thanking the Dobermann, Friencia tried to walk home, but fell on her side. So, the Dobermann helped Friencia walk to his place, which was an abandoned store.
