Forgotten Mouse is a Disney animated and musical film starring Mickey Mouse, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Felix the Cat. The film is directed by Jayson Thiessen and Howy Parkins and went to theaters on January 8, 2023 and won good reviews.
The film generated some controversy because Disney had problems buying the rights to the character Felix the Cat and when it launched they received bad reviews from parents about one of the protagonists being motivated to represent the LGBT audience and even having no LGBT kiss in the film was banned in some countries the scene in which the protagonist Felix the Cat reveals to have a crush on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
Plot[]
Mickey is preparing a party to celebrate his courtship with Minnie and his friendships with Donald and Goofy but decide to visit two new neighbors called Ricky who is a depressed and sad mouse and a hare called Briar whose smile frightens Donald.
The next day when Mickey wakes up he realizes that his friends have forgotten who he is and then catches the Forgettin disease, this disease causes a person who is forgotten to die and go to a Heaven called Destroyer whose forgotten people live there and Mickey dies in thirteen seconds.
Upon arriving at the Destroyer he sees his brother Oswald the Lucky Rabbit who had the rare case of being born with Forgettin and meets Felix a cat friend of Oswald. Mickey meets his sister-in-law Ortensia and his nephews and says that he cannot stay in Destroyer because he cannot simply drop his perfect life and because he promised Yen Sid (his master) that he would keep a hat made by God.
Oswald and Felix then decide to help him and meanwhile Mickey is reported missing and Minnie does not even remember Mickey adopts Pluto who also does not remember MIckey and asks Donald, Goofy, Daisy and Clarabelle to help her find Mickey and everyone agrees .
Mickey discovers that the Mayor of Destroyer is the only one who knows how to see the world alive and also discovers that in Destroyer there is a theater and there will premiere a new film whose actor is Joshua Remmis, a dog son of the Mayor of Destroyer. Mickey, Oswald and Felix wear their most chic clothes to ask Joshua what happened to the mayor and how they can find a way out of Destroyer.
Joshua reveals that the mayor has a mirror that shows the world of the living and that he stays in the city hall in a secret room but the mayor is dying and is hospitalized in a hospital. After a mess at the theater they go to a hospital and the mayor refuses to give the key to the secret room and Mickey pleads on his knees and cries for the mayor to give the key while singing the song "I Had Everything" whose he tells about his life perfect.
Thrilled with the song, the mayor gives Mickey the key to the secret room and ends up dying. Mickey, Oswald and Felix go to the city hall and find the mirror and Mickey reflects what is going on in their house and finds out that Donald and Goofy arrested Briar for being a suspect of kidnapping or killing Mickey but Ricky stays in Briar's saddle and reveals he is cursed to get stuck with the demon Shadow God who wants Yen Sid's hat to release disagreement and chaos in the world.
Ricky reveals that he magically erased the memory of all of Mickey's friends and family so he could die from Forgettin so that they could search for Yen Sid's hat and destroy the world. They reveal their plan while torturing Briar who is killed by Shadow God and Mickey discovers with old books a spell that allows three people to go into the world of the living and that the spell that makes everyone lose their memory is broken with a kiss of true love.
Mickey, Oswald and Felix return to the world of the living and Mickey kisses Minnie and everyone has a memory back. Ricky angry to see his plan was ruined steals Yen Sid's hat and allows Shadow God to use it as a parasite to destroy the world but Mickey, Oswald and Felix defeat Shadow God and it is revealed that Ricky is Mickey's nephew who was abandoned as a child and wanted revenge on Mickey never to remember him.
Mickey forgives Ricky and Oswald and Felix return to Destroyer but before returning Felix reveals that he has a crush on Oswald. Mickey instead of having a party makes a picnic for Minnie and her friends and in that picnic Ricky was invited and Mickey and Minnie sing a duet called "Must Beautiful Rose" and everyone lives happily ever after.

Reception[]
The film received good reviews winning 89% on Rotten Tomatoes but received bad reviews in the animation part because it was considered very mediocre and that Disney should have used 3D animation instead of 2D. And many prejudiced parents cursed the film for one of the protagonists being gay.
