Throughout the movie, Emma was downright evil due to being a monster, but near the end of the movie,
she begins crying over her deceased family, showing that she's hyper sensitive.

the movie, she uses the syrum on Davis.

The directors of the movie did comfirm that Emma was innocent until her family died. ( Emma in her monster form )
Emma and Samantha are voiced by Daveigh Chase and Liliana Mumy, both
voice actors also voice Myrtle and Lilo from disney's Lilo & Stitch.
