The café is where Tiana works to earn money for her restaurant, during the day. Employees, besides Tiana, include Buford, who ridicules Tiana about her dream. Charlotte La Bouff and her father, Eli "Big Daddy" La Bouff often stop by the restaurant to talk to Tiana. In the story, Doctor Facilier plans his evil plot here while pretending to order, and Tiana discovers that Prince Naveen, from Maldonia, will be visiting New Orleans.
However, at the end of the film, Tiana quits her job from working at Duke's Café and shifts to work at the restaurant her father wanted to build to keep his memory alive because of the high amount of money she earned to build the restaurant.
In the video game, Duke's Cafè is the location for one of the mini-games, where the players must dance outside of the cafe without being caught by Buford.
