After the events of the film, Carl sells the Spirit of Adventure to afford money for purchasing a new house in Suburbia for him and Dug to live in. The series focused on the duo living together and getting into Dug's antics.
However, this series is the first one primarily produced by Pixar, as the previous ones were developed by Disney Television Animation with support from Pixar.
This was Ed Asner’s final performance following his death on August 29, 2021. The series is dedicated to his memory.
