Each video includes a Favorite Stories promo at the beginning, and the Favorite Stories intro, which uses a new rendition of the Mini-Classics logo jingle. However, most of the videos released or re-issued in 1996 do not include the opening logo.
Mickey's Christmas Carol, the series' final release, inadvertently uses the 1992 Mini-Classics print on the tape, therefore including the Walt Disney Mini-Classics logo despite being packaged as a Favorite Stories title.
In November 1996, Disney released a Laserdisc version of the series, which contains the contents of both Three Little Pigs and Paul Bunyan videos.
In the late 1990s, Blockbuster Video released a triple-length VHS of the Favorite Stories series, available exclusively as a rental in their stores, and featured Paul Bunyan on the cover. This videocassette contains the contents of the Paul Bunyan, Peter and the Wolf, and Legend of Sleepy Hollow videos. It is also considered to be the rarest of all the Favorite Stories releases, not being commercially sold in stores.
