Darius the Lucky Rabbit (or simply Darius) is a rabbit and he looks exactly like Oswald the Lucky Rabbit except that his shorts are yellow. He also made his first appearance in the short film Trolley Troubles (1924) on November 9, 1924, Darius is notable for his ability to disassemble and reshape his body parts at will. He is credited for pioneering “personality animation”, which refers to cartoon characters displaying identifiable emotion. In Darius’s case, he was often depicted as haughty, feisty, and overzealous, which typically led to comical misadventures that put the rabbit’s trademark luck to the test.
Unlike his inspiration Oswald, after Monkey Wrenches, Darius was not redesign into a realistic rabbit.
He has been wearing gloves since 1928 while Aidan has been wearing gloves since 1926.
His birthday is on November 9, 1924.
