"Daniel Swervez is a next-gen racer who's ascending the Piston-Cup ladder against all odds. A mid-season replacement, Swervez is a quick learner who pushes himself to the limit to overcome obstacles both on and off the track."[1]
At the Los Angeles International Speedway, Lightning McQueen witnesses Brick Yardley being fired by his sponsor and tries asking Bobby Swift about what is going on, but he finds Daniel coming out of his garage instead. In the race, he and Chase Racelott pass McQueen shortly before the latter crashes. He also competes in the Florida 500 and congratulates Cruz Ramirez on her win. He himself wins third place after being first for a bit of the race.

Trivia[]
Danny's name is a pun from his US voice actor, Daniel Suárez, who is a professional NASCAR driver that won the championship of Xfinity Series (after the restart). Suárez's story is quite similar to his fictional counterpart, as both have replaced previous racers (Suárez took over the #19 car when Carl Edwards unexpectedly retired during the post-season of the 2016 season).
He is the only Next-Gen racer voiced by a NASCAR driver that had not been interviewed in Cars 3.
He is Next-Gen 2017 Race Car SB-4
A natural instinct of Disney is to promote Daniel more than any other next-gen, even the other speaking ones. They make him come 2nd behind Storm, release more forms of toys of him besides just the Mattel Diecast, and release the Mattel die-cast in numerous Multi-Packs.
He is the only Next-Gen apart from Cruz and Storm, that is seen in the lead.
He is the second known Piston Cup racer that was not born/built in the United States, the first being Haul Inngas from Cars that's sponsor, Retread doesn't appear in Cars 3.
He races for Octane Gain and has the racing number 19 (the same as Suárez).[2]
Due to the NASCAR crossover his number is now 99, due to the fact in real life, his voice actor now drives the no.99 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing Team.
In Latin America version his name is Carros "Carlos" Giron.
