Club Penguin Island was a massively-multiplayer online role-playing game for PC, Mac, Android and iOS. It was the successor to Club Penguin. The mobile version of the game was released worldwide on March 29, 2017.
The game's public beta testing period took place in Australia and New Zealand from December 15, 2016 to its worldwide release, and in Canada from January 13, 2017 to its worldwide release.
On November 30, 2017 a PC/Mac version of the game was launched alongside with the 1.8 update.
The game's announcement, along with the closure of the original Club Penguin, upset many players of the original. Club Penguin Island garnered mostly negative user reviews upon its worldwide release. The 1.8 update received positive reviews for adding fan-requested features and a PC/Mac version of the game.
The servers for the game shutdown on December 20, 2018. However, the offline version of the game is still playable.
