The circus is first seen when the storks are dropping the babies to the parent animals, except Mrs. Jumbo who did not receive one. It is later seen when Casey Junior is moving it to another part as the workers build the circus tent with the help of some camels and elephants.
One day when the circus arrives in town, Mrs. Jumbo is captured for causing rampage by attacking a naughty and childish boy named Smitty. Meanwhile, the other elephants gossip about Dumbo who is new to the circus. One night, the ringmaster brings in an act in which all the elephants form a giant pyramid with Dumbo at the top, and as Timothy tells him to do it, it's not successful and all the other elephants start collapsing, which results in the circus being destroyed. Later after the elephants say that Dumbo can no longer be in their act, he's made into a clown during the next act in which he's not satisfied of it, much to the crowd applauding for Dumbo's performance. When he learns to fly with the help of the crows, he performs in the circus again during the clown act but he suddenly flies across the tent, impressing the audience and the ringmaster. After the success, Casey Junior then takes the circus to its next location after Dumbo's flying act was successful.
