Christopher Newport is the tritagonist of Disney's 2025 animated feature film Pocahontas: Massacre of the Innocents. He's an English seaman and privateer based on the actual character of the same name.
Background[]
Christopher Newport (nicknamed Chris and Governor Newport) is a valiant sailor and privateer who befriended with John Smith and his friends. Sailing threw the seas and discovering New Worlds after learning that Ratcliffe and his crew are still on to the Natives. So Christopher helps John Smith get back to Virginia, reunite with Pocahontas and help them defeat Ratcliffe and his plans.
Personality[]
In the beginning of the film, Christopher first started was very gentle and welcoming man after John Smith welcomes him aboard.
During the escape from Ratcliffe's soldiers and sailing to Virginia, he started to be more Braver and fearless by challenging the soldiers and saving John Smith's life.
In the final battle when Christopher was fighting Ratcliffe's allies alongside the Native Indians, he saved John from Wingfield and tells him that nobody hurts the Legendary John Smith, or his name isn't Christopher Newport.

The real-life Christopher Newport was slender, fair skin, with brown hair and beard, and it's unknown what eye color he had.
In the film, he is seem as tall man with Brown mustache and long hair, and hazel eyes.

In the year 1609, captain John Smith was ready to go sealing for a next discovery of New World along his friends Thomas, Ben and Lon, and his younger brother Edward Smith. So when Christopher Newport arrived to the port, John kindly welcomed him aboard and it would have been honored to serve him as Governor Newport (taking Ratcliffe's place).
