Christopher Joseph "Chris" Columbus is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter and founder of the studio 1492 Productions. He is well known for directing and/or producing films, such as Gremlins, Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire, Rent, I Love You Beth Cooper, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and Pixels. He also served as a producer for the Harry Potter franchise, and the Night at the Museum trilogy.
For Disney, he directed the 1987 comedy film, Adventures in Babysitting and the 1999 Touchstone sci-fi drama film, Bicentennial Man and produced the 2011 adaptation of The Help.
