Chiwetel Umeadi Ejiofor (pronounced "Chee-wet-el Edg-ee-for") CBE, is an British-Nigerian-American actor, voice actor, screenwriter and director who is well known for his performance of Solomon Northup in Steve McQueen's 2013 critically acclaimed historical drama 12 Years a Slave, for which he earned a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actor, and has also starred in 2012, Dirty Pretty Things, Kinky Boots, Serenity, and The Martian.
For Disney, he portrayed Karl Mordo in the 2016 Marvel superhero film, Doctor Strange and in the upcoming 2022 film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He also voiced Scar in Jon Favreau's 2019 CGI live-action adaptation of The Lion King and portrayed Conall in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.[1]
