Cedric Antonio Kyles, known professionally by his stage name Cedric the Entertainer, is an American actor, voice actor, comedian, director, and game show host. For Disney, he voiced Bobby Proud in The Proud Family and Leadbottom in the 2013 animated feature film Planes. He also guest-starred in the Phineas and Ferb spin-off Take Two with Phineas and Ferb.
Cedric was born in Caruthersville, Missouri, but moved to Berkeley, Missouri, where he was a graduate of Berkeley High School and earned a degree in communications from Southeast Missouri State University.
Outside of Disney, he is best known for being the original host on It's Showtime at the Apollo, as well as hosting BET's ComicView during the 1993–1994 season and HBO's Def Comedy Jam in 1995. He is also well-known for co-starring with Steve Harvey in The WB sitcom The Steve Harvey Show, and as one of The Original Kings of Comedy. Additionally, he portrayed Eddie Walker in the MGM Barbershop film trilogy, as well as voiced Carl in Blue Sky's 2002 film Ice Age and Maurice in DreamWorks' Madagascar franchise. He also made many guest appearances on television shows, such as Hot in Cleveland, The Soul Man, 2 Broke Girls, The Neighborhood, Black-ish, and Power.
