Black Widow is a Marvel movie based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It was released on July 9, 2021. Chronologically, the film takes place shortly after the events of Captain America: Civil War, and prior to Avengers: Infinity War. Plot[]
In 1995, Russian spies, super-fighter Alexei Shostakov and Black Widow Melina Vostokoff act like an ordinary family in Ohio, alongside their substitute little girls Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova. Alexandre Desplat was revealed to be composing the music for the film in January 2020. Late in post-production, Lorne Balfe replaced Desplat as composer, which was confirmed in May 2020. A cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Think Up Anger, featuring Malia J, is used in the opening credits sequence. "American Pie" by Don McLean and "Cheap Thrills" by Sia are also featured in the film. Balfe's score was released digitally by Marvel Music and Hollywood Records on July 9, 2021.

The website's critical consensus reads, "Black Widow's deeper themes are drowned out in all the action, but it remains a solidly entertaining standalone adventure that's rounded out by a stellar supporting cast." On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 67 out of 100 based on 55 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".
