Bingo is Old MacDonald's dog and one of the characters in Mother Goose: Rhymes to the Rescue.

Background[]

There was a farmer who had a dog,

And Bingo was his name-o!

B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O,

And Bingo was his name-o!

Bingo is Old MacDonald's dog. His job is to herd the animals and keep trespassers off the farm. He always keeps a good temper, but once the Ill Wills go too far, he can be rather wild. Old Mac's best friend is always by his master's side, so this courageous canine is someone you can count on.

Bingo is a black and white border collie with a magenta collar and a gold name tag.

Appearance[]

In the movie, Bingo is seen sleeping on the front porch of the farmhouse while his master is sleeping in a rocking chair. They both wake up so that Old MacDonald can tell the story. Bingo is seen on the farm in part of the Nursery Rhyme Medley as his master sings his song. When the Ill Wills capture Mother Goose and take over Rhymeville, Bingo sees the entire farm running itself while Old MacDonald, Hickory Dickory Dock, and the Itsy Bitsy Spider riding away on Marshall the Horse to save the day.

While Old MacDonald and his gang rest for the night after getting past many obstacles, the farmer wishes that his dog was with him at the campfire. Soon, Old King Cole, his horses, and his men arrive at the paper fortress of the Ill Wills. Before long, Bingo (who somehow left the farm) arrives meeting up with Marshall who had been left outside to graze. Once the battle begins Bingo bursts into the fortress with Marshall and the dog tears up the Ill Wills with his teeth. As soon as all the Ill Wills are gone, Mother Goose decrees that she and her Rhymesters shall continue to do their rhymes.

Bingo is even seen at the celebration party in Old King Cole's castle; after the party, Bingo and his friends return home to continue acting out their rhymes. In the end as Old MacDonald returns to work, Bingo barks goodbye to the viewers and joins his master.

Video Game[]

Bingo appears in the video game as a non-playable character, he can attack enemies when Old MacDonald calls him.

Trivia[]

  • Bingo is actually considered more of a song than a nursery rhyme, yet he is often seen a different breed of dog.
  • He appears to be the only farm dog and border collie seen in Mother Goose: Rhymes to the Rescue while the Little Dog appears to be a Golden Retriever. Also, the Little Dog can talk while Bingo only barks.
  • Bingo bears a great resemblance to Mike the Dog who actually played Bingo in Kidsongs A Day with the Animals.
