William James "Bill" Pullman is an American actor. He is well-known for his performance roles, such as Captain Lone Starr in Spaceballs, Thomas J. Whitmore in Independence Day, Dr. James Harvey in the 1995 live-action film, Casper, and Standrich Dale Gilchrist in the NBC sitcom 1600 Penn. He also voiced Joseph Korso in the 2000 animated sci-fi film, Titan A.E..
For Disney, he portrayed Bryan Denton in the 1992 musical film, Newsies and Commander Dolan in the 2004 Disney Channel Original Movie, Tiger Cruise. He also played Whitman Crawford in the 1996 Touchstone Pictures film, Mr. Wrong, Jack Callaghan in While You Were Sleeping, and Earl Mott in Ruthless People.
