Barry is one of the main male protagonist in The Little Mermaid: Tales of Land and Sea. A former street Rat in the city of Denmark, Barry spent most of his childhood scrapping for food and running away from the guards. His upbringings however never stop him from keeping his heart pure, which made him entitled to a magic lamp holding a magic genie.
Background[]
Barry was born a Street Rat and the son of Arwen, a citizen of Denmark, however, when he was five, his mother passed away leaving Barry an orphan and to defend himself living most of his childhood in poverty, though he maintained a warm heart and selfless nature in spite of his struggles. Before Arwen's death, Barry promised her that he will not change of who he is.
Personality[]
Barry is a kind, optimistic, fun–loving, and charming boy. Though he was forced to steal for survival, he showed joy in escaping the brutish guards, and showed an attempt to find enjoyment in the struggles of his day–to–day life. Though he didn't like stealing from the marketplace denizens, albeit forcibly so, Barry is a selfless person. He is never above sacrificing his food for the less fortunate of Denmark, such as starving children. It was especially shown of his selflessness through his adventure, specifically for the sake of Melody and Genji. Barry accepted himself as a Street Rat and he never tries to become something he is not.
